Quote fromSpidey 1 = good. 2 & 3 = ruined #1.
Gotta disagree here. I personally loved Spidey 1 and 2. 3 was just plain garbage though.
Quote fromHorror movies really just don't hit it home anymore like they use to. They're boring now for me unless they encorporate other aspects into it other than the cheap screams. Example would be the movie 23. While I wouldn't consider it much of a horror movie, it was somewhat scarey but interesting at the same time. It wasn't because I wanted to see Jim Carey, I wanted to see what the overall concept was about, the number 23 (although, I didn't see this one in the theaters, I watched the DVD).
Well, Jim Carrey has pretty much run his course in terms of watchability (is that even a word? Cause if it isn't, I call copyright on making it up!:p) I agree with you that horror movies have pretty much been done to death (really, how many ways can you come up with that a: get by censors and b: kills someone? Pretty soon we'll see a horror movie about a serial killer who kills his victims by pissing on them:eyebrow:)
Quote fromSo no, Hollywood has not run out of creativity.
Again, I'll point out that there are serious talks about making movie versions of Monopoly and The Sims. And I have proof here and here
So you tell me, has Hollywood run out of creativity? Monopoly: The Movie + The Sims: The Movie = Hell yes. Now, is that really a bad thing? Eh, depends. As for me, as long as they keep churning out Bond movies and Marvel movies, I'll be happy. At least, as long as the Bond movies aren't like The World is not Enough and the Marvel movies aren't like Fantastic Four (how in the HELL did that get a sequel anyway!?)
Which brings me to my issue: I really don't know how to be romantic. I have no clue what I'm doing. I can be an excellent friend, but I don't know how to do anything more. And that leads to the topic question. What exactly is "romantic" and how do I tread the line where I can be romantic after just a week without coming off as creepy?
Anywho, for those who might stumble into the clan thread, this is a first. I have found myself a woman.:o Yes, Vax is no longer single.:D Started e-mailing two weeks ago, met for dinner last Wednesday, and already we've had 3 dates together. And texting each other pretty much nonstop. This Wednesday I'm having her over for dolmades. Feels strangely wonderful, having someone like me as much as I like her.
*crickets*
Kinda dead here huh? Anywho, been really busy lately. Reading of Coriolanus, date tonight, job as AD and SM for Night of the Living Dead starting next week... now if only I could get a frigging DAY job.
From a gameplay perspective the game's all right I guess. From a narrative perspective the game flat-out stinks. Tidus is only the main character for convenience's sake (seriously, Zanarkand and Tidus could have been eliminated entirely and the game STILL would have made sense!), he's a whiny bastard, the other characters exhibit some of the most glaring lack of common sense imaginable (concerning Seymour and the Guado)... the game's a mess.
Don't know why I failed to mention GoW 1 and 2, Bully, X-Men Legends, Viewtiful Joe, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, or The Suffering.
Oh, and add Fatal Frame II to the list.
AHHHH! You know, if you really must have either FF8 or FF10, I'd go for FF10 in a heartbeat. FF8's story is even worse than FF10, but the gameplay is horrible as well. The junction system is some of the worst micromanagement I've ever seen. I cannot express how much I loathe both games, though 10 does play a lot better.
Ignore these people. They know not of what they speak.
I would recommend Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Persona 3 and Persona 4.
Anyone remember anything like this? At first I thought it was The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain, but that's not it.
HA!:D Correct me if I'm wrong, but with the streaming sites don't you get no say in what episode you're watching? Before I bought all 7 seasons of House (yes, I love the show that much) I was watching them on streaming sites, but the person streaming it was going through all the episodes in order. If that's the same for you, then you'd have to suffer through **** like The Outrageous Okona or Masks in order to get to the good stuff like Best of Both Worlds or Relics. Netflix lets me pick and choose. And apparently once October hits I'll be getting access to DS9 as well.
Despite all the crap Americans have to endure, I love living here sometimes.:p
I agree with your second statement, but not your first. Single purpose devices aren't becoming obsolete. However, the marketing for such devices has to be lived up to. Remember when the 3DS was revealed? We were told we would get some awesome games at launch or shortly after. Kid Icarus, Star Fox, Zelda OoT, Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear, Splinter Cell...I could go on. But of those, we have only Zelda OoT. It's not that the concept of single purpose devices is dead, it's that the launch was horrendously bad. WAY too many broken promises.
As for The Avengers, I believe that it's all but confirmed that the film will center around Loki and his part in instigating the Kree-Skrull War. The fighting between both worlds has expanded to threaten Earth, and they're too big for any one superhero to fight, which brings the four (in reality six, but I think Hawkeye and Black Widow will be somewhat marginalized because they didn't have movies centered around them) together. There have been rumors that Thanos will make an appearance as well, hunting down the Cosmic Cube, but again that part is only rumor.
Still looking for a job. One that I hope comes through is as a waiter at a comedy club. As a former comedian I'd love to get back in to the atmosphere. There are times I miss it.
Besides that, I've found that Netflix has finally made every episode of Star Trek TOS and Star Trek TNG available via streaming. And I am giddy. I might throttle back on the job search, if only to enjoy TOS and TNG in all their new HD glory.:D
There was a reason I put that in spoiler tags. Should I have included "do not open until you've seen the movie" as well?:p
The film is breaking all kinds of records in money earned. I really hope that this can break the all-time box office record held by Avatar. I thought that movie was a plagarized piece of ****, and I think Cameron can suck my nuts (he can stop once he gets off his ass and gets the ball rolling on At the Mountains of Madness though). Could never understand what people saw in that film. "Ohhhh pretty"?
I really doubt that there will be any more books and/or movies. I think the ending was as final as you can get, even with that godawful epilogue. Any additional stories would be about on par in terms of quality with the Star Wars prequels, and I hope Rowling isn't as stupid or greedy as Lucas.
Nope. The ending is just as it has been in the book. I've always thought that Rowling included an open ending like that just in case she got an offer like that.
Mind you, this is just me, but this is what was wrong with the epilogue for me: It seemed like no time had passed for the protagonists, but their kids had grown 12 years. No aging. It squicked me out to be honest. Aging had been done pretty honestly through the whole series, because it had to. But hold on now! There's a scene 19 years later. So what, we'll just film it with the actors we've been using. Never mind that it makes NO GODDAMN SENSE.
Job hunt's slow going. Tried working on commission, didn't last past the 3-day weedout session. Never doing that again.
Helping my former combat prof with a couple demos in the next couple weeks. One's a stage performance of The Zax and another's a combat demo before a show at a large theatre in town.
Also saw HP7-II (thanks Final Fantasy for that idea). Good film. Not the best, but a good way to end the series. As good as 97% on Rotten Tomatoes? No way. 85% is my opinion. Plus
