I hadn't even thought of that Crazed Goblin, i think that point along with a desire to not just delete things that aren't pretty are enough reason to bring that info back from the dead. I myself didn't know what was going on until i came to mtgnews on the 1st and pieced it together as people posted things faster than s_s could delete them, haha
i think the council sounds like a really good idea, but the people popular enough and with desire to be on such a council are prolly just going to be the mods and admins who came here from mtgnews anyway, right? i think the idea is great, but i think that we already have that in the new mods and admins for this site. We've all seen what can happen when the top fails, and the guys on the top here are not about to let that be repeated anytime soon. I think we're in good hands.
perhaps i am missing the obvious, but where do i find out how to use all these cool new emoticons? i've always seen people using them and never known how to get most of then in my posts other than the simple and
i completely agree with that. Limited censorship of that kind is not going to restrict anyone from speaking their minds, and is necessary for creating the type of community we need here. I was refering to some of the happenings on mtgnews, which need not be repeated as everyone is more than familiar with what i am mentioning.
At this point i think any advertisement at all is a benefit, so even if the article is poorly written atleast it is there, we need to get the word out that mtgsalvation is the place to be!
Belgareth: Puzzle was simply arguing in favor of being able to insult someone playfully without fear of a warning from a mod like yourself.
The 1st Amendment of the US Constitution gurantees the the right to Free Speech, Press, Religion and Assembly. But, mostly here we are just referring to Free Speech. The Right to say what every you want when ever you want so long as it is not a damaging lie such as something slanderous.
Your point on this being an international site is a very good one, i often forget there are so many nationalities present in this community. However, i think the spirit of the first amendment should be present here, as the internet as a whole is free speech, it seems wrong to limit it here, where speech is so important.
i really just don't think it's a good idea, for most of the reasons posted above.
That, at it makes the site very intimidating and unaccomdating to new members. And as i have seen Saka state, we need to make a new community seperate from mtgnews, not just be a refugee site. and i think anything that could inhibit new membership is a HUGE step in the wrong direction
I think for the most part the 1st Amendment should apply simply because it is the 1st Amendment. however, i definitely agree that the Admins and Mods need to be able to regulate the boards efficiently, and part of that is a warning system. I never had any problems with the mtgnews warning system, so i don't see why it shouldnt continue.
first: i really like the admin name: Administrator, it leaves a lot to the imagination
second: are those now the official tags, now that we are again on vbulletin? not that the server/host changes and what not havent kept things interesting enough, haha
wow! that's a lot of smilies! i'm going to print that out so i can start using them
haha . . . that's awesome
edit: oh, and democracy is pimp
thank god i am not going crazy . . . **takes tinfoil hat off of head and wipes brow**
well, when they are there, is it just a simple point and click process? or is there specific typing necessary?

I'm really glad that this new location was possible, i hope the community can make this transistion well.
