i know its wouldn't fit this deck, but i cant think of near deth experience without thinking of soulgorger orgg might be an idea for a differently colored deck of this type though
I really like sun titan the best i think it has the most combo potential, really like the idea of pairing it with eternal witness i really like grave though as well, i really want these two in my cube, and i dont care much about the others getting in (i dont have a lot of non-basics in my cube) the others may find spots if i can get my hands on them
All I know is that this guy is asking to broken. Sure you can only activate the ability once per turn, but sometimes that's enough. I'd try to find some way of abusing him extremely early, probably in a U/G build like the original survival. Isn't there a functional Man o' War in M11?
there is not a functional man o' war, however there is a card thats the same but costs 1UU sorry im one of those people thats really getting tired of that term being misused
but if your saying that this card might work in a tool box type deck with creature that have etbf effects, then yeah, that would be a good use for that card
Yeah, this make sense for me as a valid argument to not being purple. If we examine the picture, all the surrounds are blue so that planet might be part of the background not a planet to be considered, in wich case it would be a big miss by the artist. But this sound reasonable.
I guess we have to wait and see what the card is.
Edit: Looking at the picture resized i realized that the ringed planet is not blue - It is colorless - The blue surrounding is what makes it seem blue as some of the fog is in front of the planet and the fog has that blue color.
i dont even really think its a miss by the artist, card sized the background planet will barely be visible and i think they made the planet purple instead of blue to distinguish it from the blue back round
sorry if this has already been said i didnt read the whole 12 pages, but the planet you have labeled as "blue" is very small and feels distant, so im pretty sure its meant to be part of the background of the picture. theres only five planets in the foreground of the picture, the "purple" one is blue
edit:also if that saturnish one was the blue one the hexagon would not be shaped right, if you ignore it as background (which i think was the artists intention) then the hexagon will be shaped right
i see your point maybe ill try to get me hands on some tutors, that black one where you discard a bunch of cards is fun, but those god to the top, just trying to think what might be good here i guess investing in demonic and that blue one that looks for instants and sorceries is probably good
but thats why i sided the box in, in order for storm to work here they need to build up pieces over time in their hand so the box was good disruption there, but i do think that deck needs more fuel, if you dont get grinning ingus its hard to go off
BBB is really hard to get and unlike Necropotence, Underworld Dreams doesn't win you the game but only pings your opponent by one every turn, since there aren't any draw 7 effects in your cube. Even if you get the Underworld Dreams + Puzzle Box combo going this isn't the instant kill, and you didn't influence the board the slightest for 2 full turns. Teferi's Puzzle Box has been mentioned because (if you don't have the Dreams) it is 4 mana for a symmetrical effect that your opponent gets to use first.
If a card is never played, there is no reason to keep it in your cube. That is like replacing a card in your deck with a bad one, only because it has a nice picture. Staying Power has a symmetric effect that is hard to keep track of when the game lasts longer.
well staying power is symetrical but can be way better for you if you have something like primal forcemage or any number of other things, also i like the box i have sided it in to disrupt storm decks and well weve started an inside joke about it so it has to stay in i can agree with all of your points on underworld dreams, but for now as mono is very common and it seems like it could be alot of fun its an interesting and unique effect even if its bad, interesting is more important here, a card like day of the dragons for example doesnt get played often but the fun that person has on those rare occasions makes it well worth it
Why Sunder, but no Armageddon? I don't see one being particularly more "fun" than the other...
it is way more fun, i think alot of people are missing that this cube is highly about card interactions, and comboing out, sunder works well with discard outlets and can be cast at instant speed, it can also pump maro, and im sure has other such applications im not seeing in addition to its armageddon like effect
as for the long list of cards i dont have time for that right now, but real quick i did notice that both underworld dreams and teferis puzzle box were on it along with staying power which is one of the most beloved cards in my cube even though its never been played
Hi i recently read and article about how many play groups get overloaded with cubes that are too similar my play group was one of these with three cubes that played out a lot alike I noticed the article didn't offer a solution similar to the one I went with, so here it is, I build a lower power cube that uses really unusual cards and focuses on synergy more than most cubes do in short most cubes are "spike cubes" this ones a "johnny cube" please feel free to discuss the cube as it is listed in its entirety below. All in all this cube is really well liked and some players even prefer it over the other cubes
*this section is also incomplete I want to add the 3 color Alara lands and the shadowmore/eventide filter cycle
other
There is one copy of "Crowd Chants 'Goldberg'" from the WCW Nitro PCG if you first pick this card you get to go first in all your matches
edit: please, i spent hours posting this can someone post something, do you like this cube? do you hate it? what cards do you think are fun to play with? what are some fun additions I should make? what should be taken out? i kinda don't even mind flames at this point i just want some responses
didn't go through the nearly 40 pages to see if this has been mentioned, but he never said it was a non-creature spell and all he said was its casting cost is u (which by the way he did so i dont get all the affinityish ideas the casting cost is u so im guessing it has got to be a level up creature
hey i couldn't find a way to search the forum so i don't know if this questions been answered, but i have staying power in my cube and there's been a lot of debate about this sort of question
so if i have a staying power and a card like say Leonin Sun Standard (not actually in my cube though i may add it its really just the best example i can think of) does the effect of the sun standard affect the creatures (meaning it gives the creatures currently in play +1/+1 and doesn't effect future creatures) or does it effect the sun standard (meaning staying power turns it into a super glorious anthem that would effect creatures you haven't played yet)
it would be helpful to understand how this works for future drafts, thanks in advance
i really want this for the sake of my cube, will this be a card store exclusive like algelic vs demonic or can i go to wal-mart like a plainswalker one
edit: i dont have any way of ordering things online, where i can purchase it in person with cash is the only advice im looking for
this kinda reminds me of something i picked up at a target about 8 months ago it was labeled 2 pack special price ($6.99) the visible pack was from the current set i think it was shards, i bought it hoping the second pack was the same but it was tenth edition, but i did get a time stop and a foil avatar of might out of it so i can't be that mad, but i still felt slightly cheated

i guess it isnt but still this is a really interesting deck i hope it does well

its an experiment for now hasn't been played with hoping theres some sort of dredgy use for it but ill switch it out if there isnt
