I really can't tell whether or not his is a joke. It certainly doesn't fail to use the "religious-propaganda-website-attention-grab" technique of changing text size every couple lines.
seriously, this is just plain ridiculous, i hope this hasn't caused anyone to convert.
I looked into the artist and saw that Pat Lee is a comic book artist, although this alone does not deem the card fake since Kev Walker does magic art too. My guess is that like other fakers, this card has been fabricated using a piece of art by the artist credited. While searching for information on the artist, I could find no indication of any work done for anything other than comics. I propose that whoever created this card found a piece of art that appeared in a comic illustrated by Pat Lee and decided it could work for a counter.
I'm not saying i'm right, it's just a guess.
Apart from that, this card is pretty bad. If it is real, then WOTC is really teasing us with sub-par counterspells. Just bring back the real thing!
I would have to agree that the banning of artifact lands was extremely unnecessary. This banning did not only ruin ravager, but decks such as KCI, which didn't have any warping effect on the format. A far more appropriate thing to ban would have been plating, but now even it is largely useless thanks to the banning of the arti lands.
That being said, the demise of ravager will certainly have an interesting effect on the format. I'm sure that there will be some new deck types on the rise that would otherwise have been unrealistic. This has significantly slowed the format down, which can allow for some more interesting, perhaps even some combo, decks.
I'd love to see some playable multilands in the base set; either pains or fetches. I'd also like to see enemy-fetches and enemy-pains come back, but that's not going to happen. Being the pessimist i voted for the invasion CIPT lands, as that's most likely what we're going to get.
Personally, I would highly doubt wrath being removed from the base set. This would be a very strange move by WotC, as it is a staple (then again, they killed all the other ones) and I'm sure alot of players would not approve. Perhaps Wizards are trying to separate the "advanced" from the "expert" sets a bit more, moving the cards that see serious play to the "expert" level sets and gearing the core sets more towards the players who are still learning.
As for the chase rare in 9th, I would assume it to be wrath, and I'd be extremely surprised to see it go. It would be nice if they replaced those crappy invasion duals with some pains though.
If I have a loam dweller in play and I cast Kodama's reach, can I put the dweller's ability on the stack so that both lands end up in play? Or does the spiritcraft trigger go off right away?
i must say, the way this set is shaping up it's extremely disappointing. When I see something like a 3/3 for 7 with a junk ability, i really don't know what WOTC is thinking. I admit there are a few cool cards but the majority of this set is ridiculously underpowered.
Anybody else feel this way or am I the only one?
Edit: ok, not worst set ever, but an extremely disappointing set.
on a more positive note, what do people expect to be the stronger cards in the set? which ones will see some serious play?

I'm really impressed that there will be a reprint of mogg fanatic, one of my favourite cards, as well as the white spore frog, this is certainly high quality.
As for the blue one, my gueesses are; hapless researcher as a spirit or something similar (maybe just draw, that would be nice),, or something weak like flying until EOT.
I'd certainly like to see a sac-for-force-spike creature as a 1 drop but I'm not holding my breath.

I will bid some potatoes. Some are boiled, some are mashed, and others are stuck into a stew.
I certainly agree that there should be an extract in the SB for oath.

I'm in the process of making a deck to go along with this, any suggestions would be welcome.

I've done a bit of testing and this card seems fair. When my load of schoolwork has lessened, I'll continue testing as well as making some new ones.
