Website is overloaded... Taking too long!

So the token red "cast this and get this" enchantment.

You posted at 11pm (american central time), the exact time the website changes over, did you really expect to load, read and reply in less than a minute of the site refreshing?

Thought I would open my old account again to tell you this:

Jon Finkel is on Reddit doing and IAMA AMA(I Am A- Jon Finkel - Ask Me Anything)

    Have fun.

Oh and just so it doesn't become a fan fest of asking Finkel magic questions you might want to know the context of the AMA: He went on a date with a girl he met on OKCupid. Then the girl, a reporter for Gizmodo, did a *****y article on the date seemingly appalled at the fact that Jon Finkel was this huge person in some game called Magic: the Gathering.

why dont you just have a suture priest out or soul warden,

get attacked to 0 on their turn
drop a creature on your turn, up to 1 life
they have to attack you to 0 again before you are poisoned

throw in a near death experience and you have a win con.

as long as they don't have a enchant removal, burn, or first and regular strike you are good

Trace amounts of radiation from Japan have already reached florida and New York (unharmful amounts to humans), so it could be moving through other parts of Japan, who knows.

I am sorry, but i have to say something on this. The whole finding trace amounts of radiation in Florida and New York is not due to the Nuclear meltdown. There is simply radiation everywhere due to natural causes. If you took a geiger counter ( a radiation detector) into your home right now you would find trace amounts of radiation. Also we use radiation in medicine at higher levels than are being found in Florida and New York to do x-rays and chemotherapy.

To be on topic, I think continuing the tournament in Japan would be a good thing for the mental state of Japan, it will help people (at least magic players) to return to some sense of normalcy.

  • posted a message on Magosi, the Waterveil
    Does this work
    T1 island, Amulet of Vigor
T2 Amulet of Vigor, Mox Opal, magosi, the waterveil, untapping magosi with first trigger, activate via mox mana, untapping magosi with 2nd amulet trigger, tap gain a turn before the opponents next turn
    T3 = infinite

add in trinket mage expedition map and early counters i.e mana leak for consistancy, when the god hand isn't pulled

Edit: I am always hoping Magosi says, target opponent gains a turn, not you skip your next turn. This does not work :p unless you throw in a third amulet and a clockspinning and the three extra mana to buy clockspinning back

Edit: Edit: even that doesn't work magosi returns to your hand before you can reactivate it.
Why did they make this card so un abusable, it had johnny written all over it before the unbreakable stipulations.

Edit * 3: adding rings makes it work, but it is not as pretty needing another card and more mana

On an unrelated note what's a Berkie?

The Birkebeiner is a 50km cross country ski race that takes place each year in Hayward, WI. It happens to be this weekend and I happen to be skiing in it.

    Alright, odd thread time:

You are a student who is a month and a half into the new semester, and you receive this email from your parent:

    Hello Your name,

Congratulations on making the Dean’s List. Your mom sent me a link to the list. You should be proud of your accomplishments. We are!

We got lots of snow over the weekend (14 inches in your hometown) You should have good snow for the Berkie.

    Have a great day.

    Love,

    Dad

I would like you to respond to this thread:
    1) What you would feel if you received this email
    2) A reason you might see this email as positive
    3) A reason you might see this email as negative

Your responses may be the same for any number of these. Also if you do not like snow or you do not recieve snow in your hometown try to not let that affect your answer too much.

    discuss away

  • posted a message on Does water "need" H2O?
    Quote from Umezete
Your thesis is wrong, water doesn't need anything. Water is simply the english word for chemical formula H20

I agree that water doesn't need anything. But, I would argue that water is the english word for that wet stuff that a person drinks to keep healthy and that instead, H20 is the chemical formula for that wet stuff.

    Counting down the lock: 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...

Because, I want to be contradictory and because posts about a thread being locked make me cringe a little, I will try to continue this thread a little bit.

I believe the original poster was attempting to discuss the technicalities of logic pathways in language. The poster did this with the example of water and a definition of what water needs to be water. To respond to dcartists' logic----The question of what is water is a simple answer and one he (or she) believes has been answered, the thread should therefore be locked---- I would argue the thread has just begun as a deep analysis logical fallacies. To keep the thread on a simpler level this thread can discuss logical fallacies through the original example: Does water need something to be water, or is it just water? - Explain your reasoning via logic.

  • posted a message on Abb... oh i mean abbreviate...
    Quote from Moruk
Because it's easier to type, and read an abbreviation of a well-known card. People know what "JTMS" and "KotR" are, so why would you waste the time writing out the full words, when you can convey your message in a few letters? It's just annoying to read anyway.

to type yes to read, not so much. Rarely will I ever type a abbreviation because of how hard it is for me to read an abbreviation. For instance KotR didn't mean anything to me until i diverted energy to remember oh thats Knight of the Reliquary. In that brief moment that i divert concentration to try to remember what KotR is I will have lost track of what is being said then I have to reread what is being said. Also if i have seen something infrequently or there are multiple similar abbreviations I may end up just skipping over the abbreviation perhaps loosing some of the meaning behind what was being conveyed.

Something like JtMS WotC MtG is alright because they are generally well known. But others, such as TSP in the original post, is meaningless without context or previous reference. (I still can't figure out what it is)

one abbreviation that annoys me greatly is OP.
    It can be:
    Original Post
    Over Powered
    Original Poster (thread)
    Original Poster (quote)

It seems whenever I read OP my mind jumps to the wrong one.

I understand what abbreviations try to do, but it seems like it often becomes redundant term to remember that doesn't help a post flow.

I would be fine with the planeswalkers one more year, I think 2013 will switch out the walkers.
Also I think it would be cool to get rid of duals for a year, make a flavorful monocolored cycle of lands a la Emeria, the sky ruin instead, forcing some monocolored decks. along with some cards that care for monocolored decks, be it basic lands or colored permanants

Because then we would have WBARG instead of WUBRG? seriously probably just like Areo said, because U is more like blue than A, C, or K is Black
