Hi guys, just seeing if there was any interest in doing a MTG and online forum survey! My friend's mom is doing her PhD, and she's fairly desperate for a wide range of responses! It's to do with posting habits in online communities and I offered my knowledge of the MTGSalvation community to her.. There's an iPad mini available to be given at random to one of the surveyees so tell people! Here's the official latter, thanks guys!
A study of posting behaviour in virtual communities
My name is Stephanie Hutchinson and I am conducting research into the motivating factors behind active posting behaviour within online communities. My study fulfils part of the requirements of a PhD at the Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia. The results of the study may at a later date be published in scholarly papers and academic journals; however member’s identities will be kept strictly confidential.
This new research into posting behaviour in virtual communities has the capacity to give owners, members and administrators an insight into what consciously or subconsciously motivates active participation in different communities, information that could be used to ensure that member forums are more user friendly and meet the expectations of current and future community members.
I would appreciate your assistance in the recruitment of your community members as participants in this study by allowing me to encourage members who are over the age of 18 to follow the link to the survey which will be posted on the website. Participation by members is voluntary and independent person details will be kept completely confidential. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the survey please feel free to email me at shutchi4@our.ecu.edu.au or contact my supervisors, Dr Madeleine Ogilvie m.ogilvie@ecu.edu.au or Dr Claire Lambert c.lambert@ecu.edu.au . Alternatively if you have concerns or complaints about the research project and wish to talk to an independent person you may contact:

I was just thinking about changing all the Incinerates in my Mono-Red online to Burn the Impure to combat the proliferation (pun intended) of mono-B poison decks when I realised..
There's no benefit to running Incinerate over Burn the Impure. The only relevant creature that can regenerate is Thrun and he can't even be targeted. Burn the Impure in this case is strictly better. It's the new Searing Blaze!
Huge change, not sure if I'm happy with it. They could have done something in between 'Completely based on who you beat/lose against' and 'How much magic you play', surely.

Just points out how ridiculously stupid Mist Raven was.

This. Anyone that *****es about the power level being decreased needs to understand the power flux inherent in the game.
