Alright, here's what I've heard about 9th, all from extremely reliable sources. Not saying these are 100% guaranteed, but let's just say I'd bet on them...
I'll take you up on that bet.
20 bucks says they won't reprint Hypnotic Specter in 9th.
I think you have some good ideas, but I'd probably tweak the cards a little. If nothing else, the idea of a Goblin Rouge just doesn't appeal to me. A rogue, maybe, but not a rouge.:tongue3:
Here are my tweaks on your cards.
Blackmail Master :2mana::symr:
Creature- Goblin Rogue
Haste.
Whenever Goblin Bomber deals damage to a player, draw a card unless that player has Goblin Bomber deal 2 damage to him or her.
1/1
Goblin Landmine :symr::symr:
Enchant Land
Whenever enchanted land is tapped, destroy that land and Goblin Landmine deals 3 damage to that land's controller.
Sacrifice a Goblin: Tap enchanted land. Play this ability as a sorcery.
what about "city-covered" lands? just paying "homage" to ice age.. you know.. now that they've been bringing back stuff like winter orb.. that's the only thing left.. redesign the old snow covered lands
"City-covered" lands?
I hope not. Maybe something along the lines of lands with a subtype, sure, but I can't see them doing something quite like that. Subtyping seems to be on a big upswing, though, so that part seems very likely. Maybe a cycle of the following...
Healers' Shelter
Land - Guildhouse
~this~ comes into play tapped.
Add to your mana pool.
Add one mana to your mana pool of any color a Guildhouse you control could produce.
The wording is crap and would definitely need to be fixed up, but I could see something like that to show what guilds you controlled. "Librum Arcanika" for blue, "Cloaked Tavern" for black, "War Barracks" for red, and "Herbalist Center" for green.
probably just that T8 decks from every PTQ, GPT thing they mentioned on the webcast.
Yeah, that's the "most exciting update ever" given in the article.
Wow, talk about overhyping something. It's nice to have, but it's not all that exciting. So it's a little bit easier now to find the latest Top-8 decks. So what?
Yeah, I noticed that, too and was pretty curious what he might mean.
"A new feature" that is "simply the most exciting content ever run by any website" is a pretty tall order. I think Mike Flores may have written a check that BDM can't cash. Granted, I'm a pessimist, but come on... the most exciting web content ever? I kinda' doubt that.
Shirei with zuberas is a cool casual idea. Though I should point out that it will do nothing with Spiritcraft because Spiritcraft triggers on a Spirit or Arcane spell being played.
And played means you announce it, put it on the stack, and pay for it.
Good call. I was thinking it was "comes into play" instead of just "play." That definitely cuts down on its utility.
Still, it'll be a low-cost 'crap rare,' so it won't be expensive to make a fun casual deck for the guy. :tongue3:
There are tons of different MtG formats out there, and tournaments for alternate formats are becoming more and more common.
It's easy to find the rules (restricted/banned lists, legal sets, etc.) for the really common formats, but is there a good website for finding this information for some of the less common formats?
If not, is there a gateway page with links to rules for these formats?
(If not, maybe we should make one in MTGSalvation. :winky:)
Well, what was the release date for 8th Ed?
9th Ed (in theory) comes out 2 years later.
I'll take you up on that bet.

Every member of this board can be my witness.
Headless Four-Legged Weird Thing
Thing With Arms All Over Its Body
Disgusting Mess

Classes:
- Cleric
- Merchant
- Wizard
- Artificer
- Herbalist
Race-wise, I think we'll see gnomes and lycanthropes (rat lycanthrope, wolf lycanthrope, etc.) in addition to some of the usual suspects.

"It's just a bad Wall of Tears."
But, I'd still play it in draft...
*shrug* There's really only so much you can do with this one.
Channel + Decree of Justice
Channel + Something Else for your Opponent to Force of Will
That thing usually spells game over in limited.

3x Shirei
4x Sakura-Tribe Elder
4x Dripping Tongue Zubera
4x Floating Dream Zubera
4x Ashen Skin Zubera
4x Spawning Pit
4x Kodama's Reach
...lands and other stuff
