I never played it in a tournament, but my Tears of Rage deck definitely qualifies as bad. :grin2:

    Partial list:
    4x Tears of Rage
    4x Genesis Chamber
    4x Myr Servitor
    4x Vulshok Sorcerer
    4x Frogmite

The Sorcerers are there to take care of opposing Myr tokens. If you can survive a few turns, it's hysterical to win with a horde of 10/1 creatures off of a very bad card.

The problem is that the deck rolls over and dies to Pyroclasm or Hideous Laughter and so on.

This idea is probably crap for constructed, but it seems interesting for a casual deck...

Use Shirei with some of the better Zuberas and Spawning Pit. Each turn (yours or your opponent's), you could get the Zubera effect from each of your Zuberas as well as any Spiritcraft triggers as all the Zuberas come into play over and over again.

The only real weakness to the idea is that Shirei is pretty fragile. Lightning Greaves could help somewhat, but I'm not sure that's enough. Here's Shirei for reference:

    Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker :4mana::symb:
    Legendary Creature - Spirit
Whenever a creature with power 1 or less is put into your graveyard from play, you may return that creature card to play under your control at end of turn if Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker is still in play.
    2/2

EDIT - Spawning Pit, not Spawning Pool; sorry about that.

In number 3, are we trying to find a phrase, or am I completely on the wrong path, here? I found a large binary number in that mess, but that doesn't seem to be much of an "answer." *shrug*

...I'm interested to see what other players think of this one. I have a feeling only the advanced players will see the power this card might hold.

When you put it that way, I think that this card might hold real power. :winky:

In all seriousness, I do like the card. I certainly don't think it goes in every deck, but I can definitely see places it would be useful in constructed. In limited, I think it will frequently be crap, however.

Jason got mine correct. I'm not quite sure I understand his method, but my (overly simple) method gives the same results. :winky:

Nicely done, Dacarnix! I'm not sure I chose the best lines for this puzzle, but I think the cultural bias is outweighed by the power of having search engines Wink Unless, of course, you got through it all without needing help, in which case, I'm impressed!

Sorry, can't say I did it alone. My good buddy, Google, helped me out a bit.

Here's one. It's probably too easy, but I'll throw it out here, anyway.

    PUZZLE:
Take a quarter and place it on a table. Hold it firmly in place. Take a second quarter and place it touching the first quarter. While you continue to hold the first quarter in place, move the second quarter around the first quarter following the ridges of the coins like teeth in a gear.

How many rotations will the second quarter make?

If there were a new coin with R(new) = 0.5*R(quarter), how many rotations would it make around the first quarter?

Assuming you have other sources of mana, and can generate more mana than the opponent has cards in hand, hollow specter is better (or equal when the opponent has only one card in hand).

Next: Granite Shard > Rod of Ruin

Your opponent is at 5 life. You have lots of land, one of these two artifacts in play, and a Torrent of Fire in hand.

    Shimmering Wings > Flight

(For bonus points, also do Shimmering Wings > Air Bladder)

Here's another random puzzle I threw together. I don't think this one is as well-constructed, but I thought I might as well put it out there (I don't feel like trying to improve it anymore):

    Who am I?

    Well fadeblue,

    I think you're
    Neil Armstrong
Well, I'm pretty sure that's the answer to the puzzle, anyway. I don't really think that you're... never mind.

One thing I really like about this one is that even if someone looks at the answer, it's not obvious how to get there.

I hate how they phrase some of those logic puzzles. I can figure them out when they don't use sentence structure like:
    2) The bat that was fought off with a Walking Stick managed to suck 1.5ml more than the bat that attacked 2 days before the victim that used a Slipper to defend themselves, which was not Mr. Sachs.

    Let me get this straight...
"The victim that used a slipper to defend themselves attacked Mr. Sachs 2 days after the bat that sucked 1.5mL from a Walking Stick did not attack Mr. Sachs?"

I guess that's part of the "fun," but give me plain English and difficult math, and I'll enjoy it a lot more.

Very nice. Did you use the hint I gave? Or did you just keep cracking away at it?

I admit it; I looked at the hint. :winky:

I partly looked to see the hint, but the main reason was that there was this button sitting on the screen that said "PUSH THE BUTTON! PUSH THE BUTTON!"

Your opponent has a Treacherous Link on a Squire they control, a Pariah on a Grizzly Bears you control, and a Treachurous Link on the Pariahed creature. Your at 3, your opponent has 0 cards in their library, and a Grand Melee is in play.

Blademaster attacks, Squire blocks, Blademaster bushidos to a 3/3, and you take 3 and die. The Unicorn deals 2 damage, you take 2, your opponent untaps and decks themselves.

Morphling > Air Elemental assuming you have infinite mana and no cards that prevent activated abilities are in play.

    Hmmm...

The added conditions definitely make it more difficult. If we assume the infinite mana comes from lands, then being at 1 life with an opposing manabarbs in play against an opponent with 4 life and no flyers would work as the solution.

If the mana is coming from a non-land source, though, then nothing specific leaps to mind.

hypnotic specter > hollow specter when there are no lands in play (due to an Armageddon or something)

The reason I didn't "put more thought" into my post (or, more accurately, the reason I didn't post my thoughts in more detail) is that I wanted to get an initial reaction, not a reaction to what I think an MTGO forum would be or should be.

    Quote from Xenphire »
I'm not quite sure why there should be an MTGO forum when all the forums we have here for the different formats are the same for paper as they are digital. If someone could give me a valid reason or difference big different between something in paper and digital then I'd definitely consider it, but the reason we didn't have it here to start off is because we didn't feel that there was really a need for it. I don't play MTGO so it's up to you guys to tell me what's up with it.

I agree that threads on decks and strategy are better placed alongside the ones for paper-based magic. In that regard, there's really not much difference between paper-based magic and MTGO.

The biggest difference is that MTGO is an online community. If there was a MTGO forum on MTGSalvation, it could be used to arrange games between MTGSalvation players no matter where they're physically located. It could also be used to help players that are just starting up accounts in MTGO or even to create online MTGSalvation events.

Incorrect, Dacarnix. Just to clarify, the solution to the puzzle is the name of the state.

Incorrect, or not the answer you were looking for? :winky:

If you woke up, had leftovers, and "realized" you were in a different state, where else would you be than an RV or trailer?

If you really want the state, though, you're obviously in Missouri.

You have both of the listed cards in hand. Your opponent has a Matsu-Tribe Decoy in play.

Since I disagree with the answer, I'll repost Ankh-Morporkian's:
    Kitsune Blademaster>Pearled Unicorn

While the first card is too expensive to be any good in a tournament constructed deck, there have got to be ways to make it useful in a casual constructed deck.

Take, for example, Isamaru, Hound of Konda, a decent sac effect, and a decent effect when a creature comes into play under your control. You can repeat the cycle once for each white mana you have.

Like I said, not tournament-viable, but you might be able to come up with something interesting for casual.
