For those running Gyre Sage, has anyone thought about 1-2 Entreat the Angels? The mana ramp works with it, and the miracle is cheap.

Fathom Mage seems to me the right cut. I'm also iffy on Stolen Identity. I feel like Sphinx's Revelation needs to be in here somewhere - you're running the right colors.

As for your creature base, may I suggest some changes?
-1 Zegana: You really only need 2. She costs 6, and can get huge... Maybe. I wouldn't run more than 2.
+2 Resto Angel: I'd rather you run all four.
-1 Master Biomancer: 3 is enough. He doesn't do enough by himself.

I don't think Sorin is better than Garruk here. Garruk puts out bigger threats, which just creates more value than Sorin. Garruk's card draw is also more relevant, especially when your creatures are getting bigger due to Biomancer.

Sorin is cute, but it isn't worth cutting Garruk for him.

Perhaps Omnibob would go well in a UBR Delver deck. Imagine 4 Delvers, a good suite of discard and burn, with Think Twice and Snapcaster. Then, you drop Omnibob. You should be able to take over the game from there.

Yeah, Modern Junk might like this. Deathrite Shaman is a fabulous target for the last ability. The second mode is good removal, and the first one (while the worst) can be used to save your 'Goyfs or Restoration Angels.

The Angel token is mandatory, though, isn't it? So you have to tell him to put the Angel token into play or you both get some kind of penalty, right? Something like "Failure to maintain game state" or something like that.

    1. When Tidehollow Sculler enters the battlefield, its "enters the battlefield" effect goes on the stack.
    2. Sacrifice the Tidehollow Sculler. Its "leaves the battlefield" effect goes on the stack above the "enters the battlefield" effect. This means that the LTB effect will resolve before the ETB effect.
    3. Because the Tidehollow Sculler left the battlefield before it could exile a card from your opponent's hand, the LTB effect does nothing when it resolves.
    4. Now, Tidehollow Sculler's first ability finally resolves. You choose a card to exile.

Now, because the Tidehollow Sculler was gone before the opponent's card was exiled, it can't leave the battlefield again (which is needed to trigger Tidehollow Sculler's second ability, which brings the exiled card back). Therefore, the opponent's card is permanently exiled.

The same thing works with Oblivion Ring and Detention Sphere, by the way.

Why are you running Mizzium Mortars instead of another Bonfire of the Damned?

I'm also curious as to your choice of Mayor of Avabruck. I'd think running Avacyn's Pilgrim would help you out more. It'd help you power out your Restoration Angels and Thragtusks a turn earlier, and even Huntmaster, if you score the right mana.

I'd also look into Pillar of Flame instead of Searing Spear. Searing Spear may hit X/3's better, but it leaves you vulnerable to Strangleroot Geist, a major player in current G/W decks running it with Rancor and Silverblade Paladin.

Honestly, this deck is similiar to the Naya Midrange Deck I was putting together, though I was going to run some Loxodon Smiters to smooth out my curve and using Arbor Elf and Avacyn's Pilgrim instead of running so much land search. Pilgrim -> Smiter -> Huntmaster -> Thragtusk by turn 4 hurts a ton, and having Selesnya Charm to take out opposing Thragtusks is really handy.

If you add Noxious Revival, you should seriously consider running Snapcaster Mage. He's Noxious Revival 5-8 most of the time, plus a source of damage and a blocker, and in the late-game he gives your miracles a second chance (although without the miracle cost this time, since you're flashing them back from the graveyard).

Have you ever stopped to think that maybe, just maybe, not everyone likes competing in the big leagues? Magic is played at kitchen tables by people with their spare time and spare money just as much as it is played by people who spend exorbitant amounts of money on pieces of paper just to get their rocks off when they win a game. Don't be so ignorant.

As for your deck, since you're doing 5-color, do you think that running some Zombies in Moan of the Unhallowed would work, or maybe even Bloodline Keeper for flying vampire tokens?

I'm not totally against dragons being in other colors. What I am concerned with is the dispproportinate amount of dragons in other colors. This is exaserbated by the fact that dragons in another colors/colors get much flashier/sexier mechanics/abilities. Red dragons for the most part are pretty tame and get the standard firebreathing mechanic. Pretty plain jane. Red dragons should be some of the best dragons, not some of the worst dragons especially considering they are supposed to be red aligned.

In my opinion, the reason that some dragons that stray from being mono-red get an extra boost in terms of power and ability is because they are tapping into other kinds of mana. With each new kind of magic these dragons explore, they unlock even more potential. If anything, with the kind of intelligence that the Ur-Dragons possess, it's no wonder that they went looking for more power, especially since another side of red is ambition.

So Living End is okay to use, since you exile the creatures in your graveyard first before you put them onto the battlefield, correct?

Of course you don't build around this card, but it certainly couldn't hurt to have it as a singleton in your Innistrad Block Constructed deck as an enabler for B/G Morbid decks that replaces your sacrificed creature with a card in your hand.

Though honestly, I'd just rather run Pod as a way to sac creatures with an enormously greater effect. Still, I could see it either in BUG or WBG Pod decks as a singleton, just for ****s and giggles.

I'm going to be picking DFC's that are the opposite of my draft colors, just to **** with other people and make them pass me my colors instead of hate-drafting red for that one red Werewolf I just picked up.

    Quote from TheDrizzzl
My friends and I seem to be at a misunderstanding on how, or more of, when the Royal Assassin's ability takes place. Say, I have a Royal Assassin on the battlefield (untapped) and my opponent attacks with whatever creature. I tap my Royal Assassin to destroy target tapped creature. Is that creature destroyed instantly or does it do its damage then it's destroyed?

The creature is destroyed as soon as Royal Assassin's ability resolves. The creature is destroyed, and since it's not on the battlefield anymore by the time the Combat Damage Step rolls around, your opponent's creature will deal no damage.

This is assuming you're activating Royal Assassin's ability before the Combat Damage Step.
