Egg was needed to be banned because it made the matches EXTREMELY long and boring, same reason with Sensei's Divine Top, seems Wizards doesn't like cards that just make the game longer and boring for the opponent (see Shahrazad, it is banned in legacy, and not because it is overpowered)
While, I don't mind Eggs or Top being banned in Modern as much as many other offences on that ban list, I would like to say that Shahrazad is pretty OP.
It used to be played in the board of decks that could play it for cases where you win game 1, you would side in a set, and without having any slow play happening, go into sub game and maybe even sub sub game to time out the match and secure your victory 1-0-0.
Is this getting to a place where Show and Tell, or in this case, Sneak Attack could get the hammer? I guess we will really see after this next weekends big GP, but that's the least diverse legacy top8 in some time.
But, it could also be because a lot of this players play and test together, often play similar deck, and where at the same time among some of the best in the room...
You think? What would I cut for the death rites? I've seen a lot of lists that play 2-4 Tidehollow Sculler which might be able to go, though I feel it has a bigger impact than Thoughtseize, which I wouldn't mind cutting either.

Does anyone know if BW Stoneblade can still put up results? I've been slowly aquiring the cards I need for it, and wouldn't mind finishing it off if I could do okay in some small tournaments.
Deck is great, performs as well as any/a lot of tier 1 decks with the right cards played in the right order. Don't forget 1x Bayou and 4x Deathrite, it wouldn't be the same without it.
Understood. So you're essentially playing him for the -2, even if you only end up taking a single card you still end up with CA.
Then his ultimate seems pretty crazy. You're getting a game changing creature or spell. Do you have to play that card immediately? What would happen if you used it to grab a Sphinx's Revelation? How much would the X be for?
You are playing Jace not only for -2 but because everything he does creates in an advantage in each matchup. VS a creature deck you might be spamming +1 to protect Jace, and your own life total, and when things get out of hand, use the -2 to dig for the Supreme Verdict.
VS a slower, more controlling deck you are able to -2 right off the bat, and then alternate between + and - to keep drawing 1-2 extra cards per turn, that's a lot!
While Jace ult will seldom come up you can cast any spell with it, but only while the ability is resolving. And if you choose and X spell, it's X cost will always be 0 since no mana was paid for it. When something gives you free spells, it will always cast X spells on 0. Normally Jace grabs your own Aetherling and the biggest creature in your opponent's deck. You could also technically grab something like a wrath, or a big spell ala~ Assemble the Legion or Rise of the Dark Realms, but you have to cast them right away.
Been playing this since day 1, very very strong vs opposing planeswalkers, and sure you take some damage from your lands, but I am very happy with them and believe that the splash outweighs the risk in this situation. Playing counters is dreamy in this list while it feels pretty awkward in the UW Divination machine that has been battling at the top tables, as well as this deck can kill small attackers as well as instant speed Obzadats with the best charm, something UW probably has wet dreams about.
I'm pretty sure once things settle down this, esper, or maybe even uwr will find their way to being the socially accepted best control deck, but I could be wrong, we just have to wait and see. Excited for this weekend.
splinter twin and both pod decks beat soul sisters because they have infinite damage, soul sisters isn't a good deck, burn, monoUtron, or depending on budget affinity or RGtron are good choices.
With 2 good reasons to run red, one of the best enchantments we could ask for, as well as one of the best removal spells, which also happens to add to the ethereal count, I don't see why that isn't the splash.
Also, Commune seems really sweet being able to act as creatures 13-16 or fetch an enchantment when you don't need another creature. Shrug.
If we had to make forums right now something like,
UW/x Control - (uw, esper, uwr, or like bantflash maybe) G/x/x Midrange/Aggro - (gr monsters, gw stompy, naya, the mono green deck from this weekend) B/W/x Midrange/Control - (bw, junk, and bwr decks here, obvs good, but need a metagame to form so they can tune their spellbases) R/x Aggro - (owen red and fantic red) W/x Aggro - (WW and boros)
But honestly, why do it now? There is a pro tour next weekend. Wait for it;)
