Wait, a second thought regarding the streaming section

All videos and streams must be freely accessible

Does this mean that sites like SCG cannot have anyone create videos using MTGO for any premium content? As those videos would not be freely accessible.

At least when you are streaming MTGO you can freely talk about and promote Hearthstone, its not a competing product, right?

I do wonder how the streaming part affects people like Kibler, LSV and TheDarkestMage who have vested interests in other digital TCG/CCGs

I like the format of the leagues, but I have had no joy at all with the current sealed format.

To be honest though, I wish it was more like the Hex gauntlet which is closer to the Hearthstone model, first to 5 wins or 3 losses and then prizes based on number of wins

I just returned to MODO briefly to try out the Vintage Cube (don't play Constructed online), and am either confused or irritated by this change.

I didn't see an option on in the Cube queue to pay with a combination of tickets & Play Points. Am I right in thinking that having 80 play points for a 100 play point event is equivalent to having 0 play points? Or can you just buy play points directly? There are a lot of times where I'd throw $2 at a thing when I don't want to spend $10, but if the options are $0 or $10 I'm just going to pay $0 and leave my Monopoly money sitting... to be honest I don't remember how phantom drafts worked under the old system, but getting nothing for my efforts but untradable points makes it frustrating to try to do multiple drafts of a format I don't know very well when I'm on a tight budget... Frown

I'm kinda in the same position, I wouldn't mind trying out one of the flashback drafts, but I have 84 play points and 7 tickets, it just seems silly that I can't enter an event with 80pp + 2 tix, its like a store not allowing you to mix store credit and cash when buying something.

I have to say the flashback drafts next year actually look reasonable. 100PP, 10tix or boosters + 2 tix, not phantom so you keep the cards, prizes are 200pp, 100pp, 50pp, 50pp, so you can directly use winnings in another draft or save them for the next week/later in the year.

Its a shockingly reasonable way to give people the opportunity to play with old sets without having the boosters prices all over the place or leaving people with packs left over worth nothing after each week.

I'm annoyed that when I leveled up one planeswalker then bought another, the campaigns didn't reset, meaning I get a paltry 50 gold for finishing them, meaning it's very difficult to level up any walkers other than the initial choice. The only choice is to take your high-level walker through the bonus objectives, then spend that gold on leveling up your other walkers, which defeats the purpose of playing with them at all.

I'm hoping the events when they come out will help with this, similar to the ones in Marvel Puzzle Quest.

I think I am done with the game for now, have Liliana at level 50 (the cap) and finished all 3 chapters plus the heroic encounters, some of the later ones got pretty stupid with opponents starting at 150+ health and some of the bonus objectives were stupid. Finish at above 90 life, thats great, my max level planeswalker has 86 life and lifelink wont take it above that amount, or speed ones where it wants you to finish in 10 rounds, against an opponent with 140 health.

Hopefully the events are interesting when they come out.

Wow, lucky you being a (sort-of) alpha player.... Currently the game, as with most other mobile games) runs on two currency: Coins (maybe I'll call them emblems or sigils, I dunno) that you get by winning (50 per win, PvP or otherwise as far as I can tell) and gems/crytals (obtainable via daily login & some quests, so they're really hard to come by). Planeswalkers now cost 10 crystals apiece, so unless your early access gave you crystals, this may be a problem.

It looks as though all the challenges for the story quests give 8 crystals for the first 1 and 15 for the second one so that shouldn't be too hard to do.

Can anyone check how much the planeswalkers are to buy?

I unlocked them all when the game first came out in Australia and they were 15,000 coins or whatever currency that was, though originally it was giving out about 10x the amount it does now and everything was more expensive to make up for it, when they patched it to lower all the amounts, I still had about 40,000 saved up from playing the story so my Lilliana is at level 42 now.

They seem to have toned down how much of the currencies you get compared to when it originally released as well as needing far less to level the planes walkers.

So I dumped all I had into Lilliana who is now level 39 and feels so overpowered, lol, her discard ability is really strong.

Its getting far better now than it was originally thats for sure.

Decent update to the game today, fixes a heap of the issues I had with it, deckbuilding is a heap better and the interface has seen a heap of improvement.

If its not out in the US yet, it should at least be alot better than what we got to begin with, lol

Been playing this for the last week or so since it showed up in the IOS store.

It is interesting that it was launched it in Australia, I'm still waiting for it to show up in the App Store here in the USA (assuming that the location you have put on your profile is the Brisbane in Australia).

We get a few things here before the US, I think Australia/New Zealand is a pretty popular testbed for alot of IOS stuff, we probably just have the right size population for this kind of stuff. I remember Hearthstone launched on IOS here a few days before alot of other places too.

Been playing this for the last week or so since it showed up in the IOS store.

Seems fairly fun, there is alot of work to be done though, seems to be lots of buggy parts like achievements for story quests that don't work or trigger when you didn't meet the requirements. Others just seem downright impossible to do (cast 20 creatures when there is no real way to extend out the game or have much control over what your creatures do, one of the players will be long dead before that happens)

According to their blog post, the reason they didn't have any limited MOCS monthlys originally, was because they were expecting them to be really popular and the event would fill up.

Thats right people, they didn't provide something because they knew that people would really want it.

I couldn't even make this up, I mean, its great that the option is going to be there, but the reasoning is so laughable.

On a side note, I found it funny when I came here to check this thread, the top ad banner is a giant Hearthstone ad.
