jace is the only thing that holds blue together, counters arnt strong enough and the draw spells arnt good enough to play blue without him.
the same could be said about the green titan. valakut was tier 2 deck before he came around.
honestly i think a better challenge would have been just to mention a card that warps the format worse than jace, because cards at 4 cc in the past have been terribly bad.
but if i had to put a 4 cc card against jace id say BBE. she created advantage was a win con, and pretty much held jund together
i personally love myr battlesphere he is a straight house. ive been using him as a 2 of in mass morph and as soon as he hits the board its a must answer. he is a better target for venser mainly because he puts 4 tokens in and unlike precursor 1 doomblade or lightning bolt isnt gonna take out your entire army
this is my build has a bit more land, and something fun in sideboard. since we have a SnT SB why not add the emrakul DD pile. personal tutor can grab it seems like it might be something to try
Veneser is starting to seem really good to me. he reoccurs tumble magnets and clasps which seems pretty good with all the creatures based decks running around. i see him more as a 2 of in a deck though
What recent card is equivalent to jtms , cryptic and teferi ?
Ad Nauseam was pretty damn powerful. not only did it make a good run in a seismic assault deck in standard, but gave birth to AnT. BBE also was pretty format warping
'Geddon is bad (What deck would you want to hit with it?), but I can see how good Confinement and Form of the Dragon could be in any meta with lots of aggro and burn. Shared Fate is marginal, though, even if you could Show and Tell into it.
the geddon is for 43 land. i actually like the guys show and tell build the faeries make it possible to sheldock the turn it comes out and it has a nice tool box.
Nothing built up a varied GY in the format except when a Ravager was going in for a kill...
Yea, post banning might be a different story, but I'm talking Mirrodin heyday in both cases. (When I got turned off and took a break until Kami block and tried to pretend Mirrodin 1.0 didn't exist.
ponza use to start destroying lands on 2, not to mention monoblue shackles gained some popularity around this time aswell. both decks were played and threw stuff in the gy
