Goyf Sligh, Eva Green, Zoo will be back to almost unplayable. Thresh will get a huge blow, going from tier 1 to tier 2. Landstill, Merfolk and Goblins will be huge again. With Thresh leaving the tier, combo will raise too. So 6 from the 7 top decks will change, how isn't this dramatically...

You're saying that you think that thresh has only been a tier 1 deck since tarmogoyf?
I disagree.
Or maybe I misunderstood, and you mean to say that a threshold lacking tarmogoyf in the current meta would not be a contender, I still disagree.
In this case, I think Orlandu is giving a nod to the fact that Burn has few nonland permanents, and Stax faces it in a dis-similar fashion to other aggro decks
That is exactly what I meant.
The point I was proving was the usefulness of the Moat+Humility combo, so in a sense, I meant "aggro" in a way of creatures.
Oh... so its like... 'Bad Stax'... That doesn't seem very good at all unless your meta is like 90% aggro.
What?
What format are you playing again? Legacy?
90% of decks ARE aggro.
any deck that isn't a combo deck is an aggro deck.
so...
lets take a look at the competitive list...
Top Decks
=========
Merfolk(aggro-control)
Aggro Loam (in the name)
Threshold(aggro-control)
Survival (inc. welder Survival) (aggro)
ANT (inc. SI, TES, Cret Belcher and Iggy Pop)(NOT aggro)
UW(x) Landstill(wins through aggro-control)
Goblins(aggro)
Ichorid(aggro)
Competitive Decks
=================
43 Land(Not aggro)
Team America(aggro)

Ravager Affinity(aggro)
Elves(aggro)
Death and Taxes(aggro)
X-Land Stompy(aggro-control)
Faerie Stompy
BWG Control
Dragon Stompy
Imperial Painter
Need I remind you that most decks in legacy win through creatures, and moat+humility stops all creatures?
I think you mean to say that this version is good stax, unless 90% of your meta is combo.
In terms of reprinting Eternal staples:
It seems quite simple. WotC doesn't get much direct support from Eternal players right now (and vice versa). If you could get Eternal cards by buying new sets, guess what? WotC would start actually getting money form Eternal players
The problem is that would hook new vintage players in, and wizards doesn't want new eternal players.
Why? Because they're losing money, theyd rather you go buy a new box of zendikar and play some T2, the official format, than give money to SCG or your local card shop for some power.
on another note, I think that the reason vintage players tend to carry some "elitism" is because the fact is that although we break magic into different formats, we all follow the same rules and are trying to achieve the same goal (winning through one of the various ways, ie life, mill, poison counters), and vintage decks do that best.
These are technically the best decks in magic, the most powerful, the quickest to win. A vintage deck should never lose to a deck from a different format. So even though we take "formats" into consideration, the fact is, a vintage deck is simply better than a legacy deck or an ext/t2 deck.
Also, in my opinion, vintage is the most difficult format to play in, you really have to know your ****. That could also bring elitism
So here's the list I've been running, seems like its been very successful thus far in testing against soldiers/ww, vampires, and jund cascade. After board, the matchup vs. another control deck gets way out of hand in favor of you. Here it is:
Magma Phoenix's recursion ability is just amazing, way better than it would appear at first glance. A few notes:
*Liliana Vess: She is simply a must counter spell for a control opponent for several reasons, first of which is her discard ability, which can literally swing entire games. She was mainboard, but with all the aggro I'm seeing, she hit the board in favor of the DN's, which really help to shore up the cascade matchup.
*Grixis Charm: Simply amazing. Much better than agony warp in every way, especially since protection from red basically doesn't exist post rotation. The bounce ability is excellent vs. opposing planeswalkers as well, since you can bounce it at the end of their turn, then untap and Cruel causing them to discard it.
*Divination: I know it's terrible, but this deck simply had to have more card draw, and this was the only option. Basically, it's an evoked Mulldrifter that can't be brought back via Cruel.
You're saying that you think that thresh has only been a tier 1 deck since tarmogoyf?

I believe he is trying to say that if youre lucky enough to have it on top, counterbalance will trigger, but you cant use top to fetch it.
