My prediction is:
Vintage stays as is
Legacy is renamed Eternal
Modern is renamed Legacy
A new modern from RTR on.
You can't just rename a format to the same name as another format, that would be confusing as *****.
Also, there is no need to rename them, you just need to change bans and rules.
Considering that survival of the fittest is already one of the best green cards ever printed for edh, I don't think this commander will change the price too much.
One card you missed that I think needs a bit of attention is The great Aurora.
Notice that the playing lands from hand is a may ability. So it is really easy to draw a ton of cards with some floating mana, and shenanigans can ensue. Not the strongest combo, but I'm going to try it.
You could try out dualcaster mage. It is a solid card on its own and can also finish games with rite of replication. I like it because it's a game winning combo with two very multipurpose cards and it costs a lot of mana so people generally aren't too bothered losing to it.
Personally, I found that the best way to play the deck was this:
Do not make yourself out to be their friend. Make it obvious that you are not one to be provoked.
This can be accomplished by doing things like using instant removal only when attacked, or not countering things that don't effect you.
Your opponents will see what you get with your general, you can use that to your advantage as a rattlesnake.
I'm a bit confused. You are looking for more cards that win with the revilark combo, but don't want to run gray merchant because it is redundant.
Seems to me that redundancy is exactly what your are looking for.
Honestly, I don't think you are going to convince him to change his mind. Either you force him to change his deck through peer pressure and like tactics, or you let him use the card.
He found his loophole and already knows the history behind the changes. There really isn't any new info you can bring to light. Trying to convince him will just escalate things and it is just a matter of how reasonable both parties are.
So I played a game with a very similar list to yours Dirk.
It felt very controlling, and very stong.
First thing I tutored for was prophet of kruphix and that was all it took to take complete control of the table.
Granted I purposely held my removal until someone attacked me pretty much every time. It didn't take too long for them to figure out that other people were easier prey. I was activating Tasigur so many times that it was only a matter of time before my opponents missed an interaction and gave my cards I wanted.
My favorite part was killing my own prophet in response to a swords to plowshares, terminus, and path to exile all in one game! Vorath's stronghold made my engine nearly impossible to deal with.
Kakusho has worked out pretty well as a backup wincon that also helps keep me alive throughout the game. Definitely a big player in my strategy. It didn't win me the game, but it gained around 40 health to keep me in it.
After some research, I have found that this is caused by web ads that are redirecting mobile users. There are a few sites that describe the code involved that I could link if that would be helpful.
Honestly though, we should contact the company that chooses our ads and give them a talking to.
Vorath's stronghold is one of the additions I was most pleased with for my deck. I really needed reusable nonland recursion, and it gives you that. I found recurring eternal witness was the best way to reliably get important enchantments back.

You just need to have one you want out of your graveyard each turn.
I think it comes down to if you want more of a combo list with Gave or solid recursion with Karador.
