Sorry I've been away so long, guys. College life is a new and interesting creature for me, as well as watching the entirety of the Doctor Who that they have on Netflix streamables. I haven't been playing as much magic recently, though that's probably my own fault for leaving my cards at home by accident.

Don't expect me around much, but I'll show up from time to time to say something meaningless and temporary.

As far as this one goes: Why would you want to watch what you want wither a-way?

For some reason it's not sending me email updates anymore, which is quite annoying. I'll see if I can fix that.

In the meantime, I've been playing butt-tons of EDH with my Karn deck, which is progressing quite nicely. I picked up FTV: Relics just for it, and anything I'm not running is such great trade fodder that I've already made my money back. I'm working on foiling out the deck now, and it's going to be a pretty tough challenge, considering I'm running Top, Crucible of Worlds, and Darksteel Forge and Lattice. Not to mention Ensnaring Bridge, Strip Mine, and other awesome lands. I have a decklist in my blog containing an old decklist that I'm gonna update ASAP, but it may not happen in the immediate future just because I have classes to attend -_-".

On the subject, does anybody have Voltaic Constructs, Myr Retrievers and Ensnaring Bridge (Stronghold or Foil 7th) for trade? I'm totally willing to overtrade for it...

Am I the only one who sees no point in Japanese foil cards? I'd much rather have a normal foil

EDIT: That sounded harsh, which was unintended. I simply meant I don't see the value in them, but many people do and I respectfully disagree.

I see where you're coming from. I'm on the same side. Japanese cards are all well and good, but when I need to look a card up to explain what it does, there's an issue.

Oh, cool. I haven't been there in a long time. I used to go there for legacy every once in a while but not anytime recently.

Well if you ever decide to stop by, let me know, I'll totally hit you up! Grin

Oh, where did they get space from?

Some renovations. I don't know how recently you were there, but they have a large patio with tables now, as well as a new building on the way next door.

I lived in Austin for the first 17 years of my life. I've been to Pat's a few times, but I usually went to Thor's Hammer then Battleforge Games because Pat's always feels so claustrophobic for drafts.

Yeah, I know what you mean. They've gotten better though, more space now.

    +1 Pat's Games is fun

I'm at UTD just south of Sherman, and I have a friend who's girlfriend is at AC, so he drives up there a lot.

Nice! Out of curiosity, you've been to Pat's Games? Slant Maybe I've seen you there....

Hello once again, good people of Maelstrom Graphics!

I have but one simple request: A new Sig image. I know you may be busy, but please make sure to at least inform me of when you think it will be done by, as I'd like to know for my own curiosity to be sated.

    Here is what I want:
The image from the Sixth or Visions version of Prosperity, with Phelddagrif replacing the man in the center in a way that looks somewhat natural, if possible. On either side, I'd like Heartbeat of Spring with a Font of Mythos superimposed, and Horn of Greed (minus pedestal) superimposed over Rites of Flourishing, preferably emanating from the spiraling darkness. Wherever you see fit to put it, I'd like the text "Let's be friends".

Thanks much for your efforts. If there's an issue with this, please let me know via PM, so that I'll get it immediately. Similarly, PM me when it is completed.

Thanks again for your efforts, and I'll be sure to credit your masterful work in my sig. Again, any questions or issues should be PMed to me, just to ensure a quick response.

Well, my friend does... but he's just bitter because he's bad at Magic. He's still fun though!

Aww...I'm sorry to hear that. One day he should play EDH with me, a few other people. I run the happiest Hippo of all!

That deck is just way too fun. And I've won more games with it than I've lost, oddly enough. I usually kill everybody with a Prosperity/Skyscribing for a big number with a Hive Mind on board and things like Heartbeat of Spring/Mana Reflection/Mirari's Wake on the field, so people don't bother me until I randomly win through Abundance. If anyone wants to see my list, I'll probably post it sooner or later.

It is one of my dreams in Magic for Bolas and Niv to meet. I really hope this happens. Also, the name Innestrad (assuming I'm pronouncing it correctly in my head) sounds pretty cool

Though the great and powerful Firemind encountering the most diabolical dragon-walker ever would be quite interesting, I'm certain we'd soon have a "Niv-Mizzet, Nicol Bolas-mind" on our hands soon enough, and that's not exactly something I'd like to see. I'm an avid supporter of Memnarch, and his new Phyrexian regime, and I wouldn't much like some elderly dragon a-hole taking over my lovely mechanical world. I may be Izzet, but I'm a Phyrexian at heart, ladies and gents!

So I've been thinking (dangerous), and I want to put together a theory:

Wizards has been big on the nostalgia sets in recent years (Scars block, Coldsnap, and Timespiral block), and the storyline they've been running involves Bolas reinvigorating himself in Alara, then moving on to prompt the release of the Eldrazi on Zendikar, and now manipulating Tezz' on Mirrodin to some end.

If I've missed something, inform me, but I've also noticed that on the planes that aren't very "gold" (Zendi' and Mirr') he sees fit to use agents to do his work and doesn't do much hanging around. His planeswalker agents also happen to share his colors.

All that said, Wizards Trademarked the name "Innestrad" recently. So my completely baseless speculation is this:

Innestrad has something to do with Ravnica, and Bolas is headed there some time in the near future. Another gold-type set, political mechinations, factions that can be pitted against each other... seems perfectly up his alley. Annnnnnd maybe he meets Niv. Hopefully doesn't corrupt him!

Anyhow, I hope I'm not disappointed. Grin

I hope you're not, but I hope the Phyrexians get a hold on ol' Nic before that happens....otherwise, Yawgmoth's glory will likely be forgotten.

Oh, and.... Happy Birthday to ME! :p

Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful time! May your life be blessed by Chzo, Yawgmoth, Dagon, and other terrifying deities of legend!
( Cookie to anyone who can tell me where Chzo is from WITHOUT looking it up! Wink )

I am building a legacy deck finally! It's going to be a Cephalid Breakfast Deck, because it's relatively cheap (for legacy standards at least -_-) Also because I am a Johnny and love quirky combo decks.

I actually have a budget version of that deck, and I love it dearly. If you have any advise, want any advise, or just need some of the cards, I'd be glad to help!

In my life, I got in to Austin College up in Sherman, and I plan to go there. It's a four-and-a-half hour drive from my hometown, but more importantly, it's a mere four-and-a-half hour drive from the best LGS in Tejas!
I didn't attend the release yet, but that's because they haven't gotten product in yet. Hopefully I can make it when they do.

I'm really liking Besieged, and totally want to build a Living Weapon-centered deck. That mechanic is just soooooo COOOL!

    See you next post, guise!

Went to the Prerelease on Sunday, opened a decent pool and went 2-2. My friend went with me, going 0-4. I won two packs, opening Glissa, the Traitor (again) and Mitotic Manipulation. My big bombs from Besieged were better though: Consecrated Sphinx (!!!), Spine of Ish Sah (!!!!!).

I loved the Spine. I never lost a game it came down in except my last one. I had a pair of sac outlets to abuse it (Oxidda Daredevil and Ferrovore), and I usually drew into it off of my Sphinx.

My buddy pulled Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas and gave it to me after he lost his last round because we don't play much together and I threatened never to drive him anywhere if he didn't. Evil

All in all, I thought it was fun, and I plan on going to the release on Sunday this weekend.

As well, and this I just noticed on Cardkingdom, is there any reason Consecrated Sphinx is only like $6? Last I checked, it was one of the most anticipated cards outta Besieged....

I think wizards has stated that Niv is not a 'walker, but it would be a nice twist if he does come back.

As far as Wikipedia is concerned, it's "unsure." I don't like to make assumptions, but if Niv ends up a 'walker in standard, I won't actually like it that much. Doesn't make sense at the moment. We don't need a cross-set cameo in a throwback-set.

Im trying to put together an EDH deck but I want it to be wacky and ridiculous. Once I can get my hands on a Champs Promo Niv-Mizzet I would soooooo make that deck. He is my hero and I need him to come back as a planeswalker and fight Bolas. I could just go into a happy coma if that happened lol.

If that happens, Yawgmoth save us all. Niv-Mizzet's probably the third oldest 'walker, under Sorin and Nicol Bolas. If he was printed as a 'walker, he'd be as good in EDH as either of them. I doubt he'd fight Bolas, though, as that would be a stupid mistake, and Niv-Mizzet ain't stupid.
