Land: Would be "pay 3 life." a la Boseju, and it's too damned powerful.

Very good point. With the "if you do" clause, you don't lose any life if the ability fizzles. If American justice worked like that, I'd run around trying to stab people all day long - it's only a crime if I accomplish it. Wink

I'd agree that these cards just don't seem believable.

Nezumi Seer - Definitely blue. This *might* make sense if the card went to the yard instead, but putting it on the bottom of the library just isn't very black. Then again, this is betrayers, and the line between blue and black might get a little smeared along the way to emphasize that.

Terashi's Tower - Has there EVER been a land that destroys a non-land permenant before? Maybe if this produced green, I'd be more willing to believe it, but an inexpensive recurring disenchant requiring life payment in white right now just doesn't seem right.

The artwork kinda reminds me of Prophecy's Withdraw (sorry - not sure how to add a card link).

The ki-flip cycle is looking to be my favorite cycle in a long time. I'm a huge fan of the flip mechanic, but I've wanted something that was much more reliable and attainable than most of the flip triggers in Champions. These guys can pretty much come down at any time in the game and still be a viable asset.

I also have to agree with Spaz's comment earlier - incredible flavor. All the other flip cards, you can interpret a story behind their transformation, but these are really straight forward. I love the idea of living creatures being saturated by the energy of the kami until eventually they give in to it and basically switch sides.

Sway of the Stars is pretty sick, too - combo-licious. It's too bad Blistering Firecat rotated out because it'd would have been fun to see someone float 1RRR, triggering Sway through a more efficient means than casting, draw a firecat, and attack for the win. =)

If you think about it, the whole offering mechanic is more like the flip card mechanic that a sacrificial mechanic. You could look at the action like a race member sacrificing themselve to become an embodiment of their patron kami, much like a random warrior doing something significant and becoming a legend.

I know there's an old red/black creature that had multiple sacrifice when it came into play to set it's p/t, but other than that, I think multiple sacrifices for creature growth is really black's domain alone.
