under this logic, i'm actually hoping that the new orzhov mechanic interacts with the exile zone, something that's never really had some good attention, and has only been seen on 2 cards, both of which at mythic rarity.
I doubt it will interact with the exile zone. Look at the flavor text on Rest in Peace:

Some corpses the Golgari cannot claim. Some souls the Orzhov cannot shackle.
It implies that since it's in exile, the Orzhov can't touch it.
None of Into the Roil resolves. Upon resolution, Into the Roil checks to see if its targets are still legal. Since *ALL* of its targets are now illegal, the rules of the game counter Into the Roil.
Lapsing/non-lapsing triggers don't exist anymore, but that's not the question you're asking here. And yes, you're correct... at Regular REL if a trigger is caught within one turn of when it should have gone on the stack, it is put on the stack when caught.
From the art we've received, it looks like Gideon's going to be WR. I really doubt they would make another (half) Red planeswalker in the same set. I would put my money on a mono-color planeswalker in Gatecrash, paired with Gideon in WR. Perhaps a mono-black planeswalker?
No. Overload is an alternative cost, not an additional cost. When you play something without paying it's mana cost, you are unable to play them for their alternative cost. Compare this to Orim's Chant, where Kicker is an additional cost (you are allowed to pay an extra W to kick the spell).
Keep in mind, you've got them listed from oldest to newest. As sealed products get older, they get scarcer (on the market), and more valuable. I think if you made the same comparison in five years, you'd find sealed Legends or Realms to be more valuable sealed than as singles. It all depends on what time frame you're looking at.
With Cold Storage, you exile a creature you control, that's on the battlefield (not a creature card in your hand). Slaughter Games does not hit any creatures currently on the battlefield. So, the two cards have no interaction.
Players are given a 50 minute match. Magic is closer to chess than it is to football. (Chess clocks will never be implemented anywhere outside of MTGO, nor should they be, but that's a different argument). That said, when comparing strategies you need to think of comparing it to a chess clock, before you think of comparing it to a football clock.
So again, players are given 50 minutes to complete their match. The intent is to provide each player 25 minutes to complete their half of the game. If one player suddenly mulligans to 1, and sucks up 10 minutes of the game, all of a sudden on player is taking up 60-70% of the time. Holding priority is NOT a skillful thing, whereas in football holding the ball via the running game IS a skillful thing. That is why 'using time as a resource' with the intent to run out the clock will wind up with a DQ.
Ultimately it's the head judge's discretion. There's a couple guidelines for altering cards, and what you're describing would have to follow those guidelines.
OP here. I dont think its is rude to want to play it out and I wouldnt be super mad if someone made me play for my byes, but as I understand how important 3 byes are, I would be glad to trade the byes for some product that would help me build better decks. I really just wanted to know the proper way to address the issue without it coming off as a bribe. Like it has been said, players that want to byes are more than likely very willing to take the byes over an extr 18 packs or whatever the differencs may be.
Best way to do it is to call the judge over, and have the judge walk you through it. Most judges will sit at the table and discuss your options with you, anyways.
Make sure you don't get yourself in trouble by doing any of the above parts. It could be easy to interpret words wrong. Usually the head judge will sit down with the finalists and ask if there's anything you'd like to discuss regarding the prizes. This is an opportunity to ask the judge how you can make the offers so you don't get in trouble. If you have questions, just ask... the judges are there to help you, not DQ you.
It doesn't matter whether you were forced to discard that particular card (through say Hymn to Tourach), or given a choice of discarding that card through Mind Rot... Loxodon Smiter was discarded because of an effect controlled by an opponent, will be put onto the battlefield.

If you're not fond of that, I want to see how incredible something you do like is. That's a really, really cool take on Wasteland.
