Ugh, fine. Apparently because some people can't figure out the simple rule to have different passes on different sites I am forced to join my twitch and M:TGsalvation accounts. All this does is do it so that if Twitch is hacked, they get access to all our different account. It will not make us safer, it will only make Twitch a bigger target.
But fine, whatever.
True, but you have to lean pretty heavily into black for a graveyard based strategy, and that is considerably more than "a splash" and not conductive to its triple green cost. Such a deck would be unlikely to be competitive in Standard or Modern.
MH1 was tribal support for modern. There are a lot of tribal in the format (thanks to among other things Lorwyn/Shadowmoor), and there are a few tier 2 and tier 3 tribal decks in modern that needed a boost (such as Goblins for example).
Rock Hydra and Molten Hydra are both good cards though.
I could see it, maybe in a graveyard based deck, but the triple green kind of shafts it outside of monogreen. While it does potentially gives you a tempo boost, it also shunts a lot of things into the yard and most monogreen decks don't actually use the yard as a resource. Cavalier of Thorns is not a good card compared to the other Cavaliers, at least they are useful in monocolored strategies, in green you have better options for a five drop.
True, but that is what I get for posting when tired. >.<
As for the Knight, A brainstorm on a stick which recurs. Again proving that green got shafted hard in this cycle. Can't blame them though, the Titan and the Primoridal were both overpowered.
To bad the pythohydra and the nest both get killed by the raptor.
As for Tolsimir, we did get a Wolf/Werewolf lord in M20. They should honestly just give us a Naya wolf tribal legendary instead of teasing us like this.
Well, Sword of Dungeons and Dragons was supposed to make Beholder tokens originally...
Of course, if they did make a "crossover" in MTG between it and D&D, they'd have to add the Aberration creature subtype, because D&D fans would get angry if Aboleths, Beholders and Mindflayers were represented without it.
It wasn't keyworded previously. They made it's function a part of its subtype. Look at the Rapacious Dragon's wording.
That said, it is far from impossible.
That would be pretty awesome. Let's expand it and say "batching" instead. Each deck themed around a different "batching". One would be Historic (Legends primarily, a few sagas, and artifacts), one could be a batching of a specific group of creatures, such as Canines (batching Wolf, Hound, Fox, Jackal, and Werewolf for example), or maybe undead (Skeletons, Zombies, Vampires, Wraiths, Specters, Shades...). Could be fun.
Still going to see play in white commander lists. It's still good removal.
