Well, there is broken in every color. But, word has it that these ARE legal. I'll be playing them... For the handful of you that have quit the game with this news, thank you. I'm getting back into standard... I was a force.... Now I don't have you guys in my way. I'm back. TST2 (Time Spiral Type Two) is an amazing format.
Paradox Haze makes the curse an effective unstoppable onesided braids, which seems strong. UB looks like a really cool control archetype, if only for block.
Stonebrow is either rediculously strong (the +2/+2 and trample) or just good (tramplers get +2/+2)

Interesting. But that is a 3cc Enchantment that doesn't do anything on it's own and a 2BB thing that doesn't do much on it's own.
As things unfold I am seeing lots of interesting card interaction but I beleive this one is strictly for casual. Unless someone builds a very dedicated Curse deck. Haze, Clockspinning, someother stuff we haven't seen... etc.
Curse will never go off... However, It's sort of a mini braids. They will only sac a permanent ever other turn though. If that. May see some casual play.
Meh.
Stonebrow is also kind of dissapointing. He was so much bigger in book. I mean most centaurs are 3/3 but he was a strong centaur that was Mirari'd to be 3 times his size.
Still cool that he finally saw print though.
*EDIT* If Curse of the Cabal sees play do you think Hatching Plans will get play????
WOTC has really confused me. I haven't preordered yet (by this time I know how many boxes I'll need) because I don't know if I'll be playing with these cards yet.
If purples are legal then I will play standard and buy a lot of product.
If purples aren't legal in standard/ext I will not play those formats and thus only buy 1-2 boxes to draft with.
I love half these cards too. 5-Color players may notice Mystic Enforcer AND Spectral Lynx are in this set... How many members of "The Team" will they reprint as purple?
There has to be more to it doesn't there??? I mean black has gotten pretty close to Juzam with Morii and Grinning Demon but to suddenly print Juzam+ is strange.
Another thing is that I don't remember seeing too much 1BB removal getting played. The spot removal that generally gets played at 3cc+ is very effeciant (2+for1), versatile (vindicate), or on legs...
But anyway. If 1UUis the new fixed price for Counters how many will they print before we stop playing them?
We don't play2UU+ Counters. And if Cancel is the best we can get (at 1UU) that means every counter we get from now on which is better then Hinder will cost 2UU//UUU
Yes but perhaps the people (who have been credible in the past) think they are spoiling real cards but they aren't. Maybe, just maybe, our sources are being lied to...
Wall of Roots - OMG!!! Infinite mana between Turns!!!
I am mad however, at the use of -0/-1 counters, I thought they only use +1/+1 counters now . Maybe this was reprinted to errata it to something like "put a ~ counter on Wall of Roots:_____ Wall of roots gets -0/-1 for each ~ counter on it"
Psyonic Blast - this is just silly. on off-color card identical to an on-color effect already in stasndard. This card and the crypt are the source for my doubts of the purple's T2 / T1.x legality.
If we get this though, does that mean that Tim may be back?

I would rather see WOTC go overboard trying to spice stuff up and eventually have to ban them then see them never try to make them legal.
@Masterofice: I agree with dragonmago, Counterspell (as in the card) is dead. Just like lightning bolt had its death knell when shock was printed, counterspell's death would be Cancel.

However, dragonmago has counterspell's death year wrong. The extended season in the beginning of 2007 would see lots of 4 ofs of counterspell, so it still had one more year left to live before it dies with the upcoming rotation late next year. ^^;

The lace on the otherhand is pretty weak. Why EOT? Weren't the original laces permanent?
