I ran a list that was, essentially, straight from the Budget Deck page at Friday Night Magic. Minor alterations to the land base because I only had 2 Savage Lands, and Bit Blast instead of Madrush.
It was a bad night. 1-3.
First round was a loss against a Jund netdeck played by one of the best people in my area. Simply too fast; by the time my discard mechanics were up and functioning there were too many threats on the board and I'd eaten a Blightning myself.
Second round was an exercise in getting mana screwed, then flooded.
Third round was a loss to a 4cc deck. The first game was close. I had some specters out, and he was down to 10, but I couldn't draw anything to help me seal the deal after they ate creature kill. Game two, he boarded in another half dozen counters, and in 12 rounds of play not a single spell of mine hit the board, even the cascades.
Fourth round, I did not see a specter. My deck ran like it was a Jund deck, and I won both games by getting my opponent to 8, and following up with Bolt-Bolt-Bolt, or Bolt-Bolt-Burst.
