So I cast "Heaven" in my main phase just to get "Earth" in my graveyard.
I tell my opponent who has an active Deathrite that I then cast "Earth", killing his Deathrite.
My opponent tells me, "You can't cast it from your graveyard because my Deathrite just ate it."
I tell him, "You can't respond to any triggers when "Heaven" resolves and I still have priority. I can cast "Earth" before your Deathrite can do anything."
so i played this at my LGS legacy night and...
I went 3-0 split for first; lost 2 games (hint: always take primeval titan when you thoughtseize).
sadly, waste not was probably the weakest card.
I never cast crucible of worlds, abrupt decay was great and deathrite shaman was very important for early mana fixing.
I promised myself I would make a new deck for every event, so I might come back and tinker with this list eventually...
EDIT: I would drop waste not and the mox diamonds for maybe ensnaring bridge, grim lavamancer and scavenging ooze or 3x tarmogoyf.

So I am going to make a new Legacy deck for every week and post up the results.
I already did White Stax, Daretti Stax, so now I'll do Eldrazi Stax.
I did want to try and squeeze White cards and mana for the "Tax" route but figured this version was more consistent.
I will try this next week and edit my post with the results.
I'm really enjoying seeing (almost) every opening hand: turn 1 two mana and something to play...
I got another win today and split a box of eternal masters.
In the room was RUGlands(me), Sneak and Show, Elves, Jund, Miracles, Dredge, Burn, Reanimator and D&T.
The only deck that blanked me was D&T, he just had every answer and I thought a sphere of resistance would slow him down.
The sphere hurt me more than him and the turn I needed to draw a land to win, I drew something I couldn't cast with my own sphere and his "tax" effects.
Top 4 was Reanimator, D&T, Miracles, and RUG Lands.
Every game I sided out most of my graveyard dependent cards and sided in 3x tireless tracker.
That card is so good to us, just the card draw is win/win
I have added 4x Leyline of the void to my SB for the mirror, dredge, miracles, reanimator, storm and anything that might use the yard.
If I can side out enough, all the leylines go in as well as a Helm of obedience.
Side board
4 sphere of resistance
3 chalice of the void
1 seal of primordium
2 krosan grip
1 drop of honey
1 toxic deluge
1 dark depths
1 pithing needle
1 molten vortex
I had a good night; beat manaless dredge and eldrazi.
I can't stand losing to storm so I included leyline of the void in my SB and for giggles also added one helm of obedience.
The Helm/Void combo beat the eldrazi scourge after I landed an ensnaring bridge.
My tireless tracker got huge and drew me about 6 or 7 cards from sacrificed clues.
Siding out most of our graveyard dependency seems to be the way to go since the eldrazi player started with a leyline of the void of his own.
Ensnaring bridge (for eldrazi) is also a very solid answer for game 1 versus sneak and show, too...
The monoblack POX player was the reason I added crucible, it won me two matches.
The POX player main decks surgical extraction and always got my life from the loams.
I did side in everything I could against the Miracles player and sided out 2 loams plus a few other cards.
It really surprised him when he paid two life to surgical extraction my (only) 2 loams while Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Tireless Tracker kept up the pressure...
ray of revelation was a card I did run, but there are now two miracles players in my meta; worm harvest does so much work.
I even had one miracles player ask me if worm harvest exiles itself after I retrace it...
Depends on your list... the crucible is a win-con if you play it with ghost quarter.
You can literally strip away every land in their deck.
Also, I've had many opponents surgical extraction my Loams, which makes crucible a very important piece.
However, constant graveyard hate like rest in peace shuts off both Loam and Crucible.
If you do lean towards crucible then Academy Ruins is another card you should look at.
When I found out that stax can be morphed into a R/W version I had to laugh a little.
I've been playing a R/W control list since tempest and since then the choices only get better.
As to the R/W stax variant, is there any interest in playing devastating dreams?
Here's my R/W list from more than six years ago...
I like your initiative and talking about a buyback. It gets a dialogue started.
Here's my go at the RL discussion:
On a volunteer basis, trade in 2 of any RL card and get one (of the same) shiny new black-bordered RL card with the anti-counterfeit foil stamp.
Wizards destroys one of the RL cards you traded in and keeps one to put in a new "hidden treasures" pack...
maybe even trade in 3 of the RL card and maybe get a foil version?
Zendikar had hidden treasures and I was able to trade for a revised taiga that was opened in a zen pack.
So it is "possible" to do this in new release packs.
Deathrite Shaman
So I cast "Heaven" in my main phase just to get "Earth" in my graveyard.
I tell my opponent who has an active Deathrite that I then cast "Earth", killing his Deathrite.
My opponent tells me, "You can't cast it from your graveyard because my Deathrite just ate it."
I tell him, "You can't respond to any triggers when "Heaven" resolves and I still have priority. I can cast "Earth" before your Deathrite can do anything."
What's the real ruling? thanx in advance...
i ran this about two months ago and really want to keep tinkering...

I came up about 7 cards short, so now the search begins...

There were multiples of the decks I listed as well as a few I forgot, like the RUGDelver player that left after going 0-2.
$25 buy-in

I got that combo off once...
I only run one EE but it did work at CMC = 5 against miracles to get his counterbalance.
Nahiri, the Harbinger?
the white might be awkward but I run a savannah for thalia, guardian of thraben out of the SB.
however wide it seems: recoup coupled with regrowth?
ray of revelation was a card I did run, but there are now two miracles players in my meta; worm harvest does so much work.
