Sooo, this is my take on GB Zombies. It's a REALLY expensive build, but I have everything but 2 Overgrown Tombs. Everything else is ready for testing. I've run a cheaper version of this deck today, but just finished putting this version together, and thought that before I get to test it next week, I would ask you guy's opinions on my variant of GB Zombies:
Well, that's it. It's a 61 card deck, and I focused it around clearing the board of any creature or other card that impedes my Zombies' movements, so that they can swing freely. Vraska is maindeck because she can kill most cards, and she can be an alternate win-con, in combination with Rogue's Passage. With 8 Kill Spells MD, and 7 more SB, along with Liliana and Vraska, my Zombies should be able to swing for damage every single turn.
As for control match-up, that's why I SBed Blood Artist. If I can't swing, I sure can make them suffer other ways. All together, I think it's a solid deck, and I would appreciate your opinion on it as well!
hmmm, I guess I was the lucky one. I bought one box this time around, and pulled:
2 abrupt decay
1 Jace
1 BG land
1 BR land
1 Jarad
1 Rakdos Lord
and a few other rares, totaling about $160 in rares and mythics...Avacyn I pulled about $210 in rares and mythics. Payed $72 after store credit for RTR, and $95 For avacyn. I'm personally doing good for myself.
Okay, so, I really like the card combinations of BG, but I'm really a BR player at heart. Sooo, what I did was I decided I wanted to build a deck that played like a Rakdos Deck, but fully utilized the BG mechanics in exchange for the BR burn utility. This is what I came up with:
There you have it. I have yet to actually play test it yet, but in theory, It should play really quick, and with the Rancors, I can turn any one of my creeps into a beat-stick.
The Gravecrawlers combo nicely with Jarad, Rancor, and LolTroll.
Shread-Freak Is an awesome T2 drop, and an even better T3 drop when you hit him w/ Rancor.
Jarad...I think he will be overkill, but the Faster I can win, the faster others can lose, right?
Mangler, an upgraded Shread-Freak. Little beefier, and nice for scavenge.
LolTroll would be the beater of the deck, discard all the crawlers and slitherheads, and maybe even Manglers if it's mid-game.
Thrill-Kill offers some nice ground creep removal, and also the idea of swinging with a 4/3 deathtouch trample is appealing to me.
I won't talk anymore about Rancor...I'm probably boring you....
For removal, if I'm not mistaken, I believe I have covered just about everything creature-wise, and a lot of threats from enchantments. anything mono-colored, has a toughness of 13 or less, or is a three-drop of any type dies. I think I might side one or two Vraska the Unseen, for pesky control cards and such.
Well, that's the reasoning behind my deck list, and my take on BG Deck Wins. I would love to hear some of your opinions on it, and I would appreciate some solid criticism also!
Edit: I'm an idiot...lol, changed out my illegal M12 draw engine for elvish Visionary.....If anyone has a suggestion for a draw engine, I would love to hear it....
no it cant be. it must something easy to say like they are birds or something
ie you should not be needed to explain the similarity
Fine, if you must know, that question was originally asked with no answer intended. Most people were convinced that there was actually an answer, so they began to imagine answers for it. The best answer to date was that "They both baffle billions", based on the fact that nobody can come up with a definitive answer for this question, because it was created with no answer intended. The riddle was created as a massive waste of time for the Mad Hatter in "Alice in Wonderland".
Heh, My answer to that one would be, "They both have feet." Only reason for that would be that early 19th and late 18th century furniture had clawed feet clutching a ball of some kind, resembling those of the raven's clawed feet. But, that's just my answer.
On another note, Guess where I left ALL of my cards last night??? ....Outside in the rain.....Thank God for deck sleeves and semi-waterproof gym bags.... Only ruined a few cards, and a deck case or two. Didn't get any rares either. I couldn't believe it!
Well, I went to a release draft tonight, and went 3-1. I drafted GU, and it worked SPECTACULARLY! I pulled 2 ancient stirrings, 2 growth spasm, 4 deprive a guard gomazoa, a foil mul daya channelers, 2 distortion strike, and a bit of eldrazi to polish off the beaters. As soon as the draft was over I went and made it into an actual deck with my 5 booster packs.
I personally like it, but enchantment kill jacks it up pretty badly. it tied for 4th...one win off third.....oh well, pulled a vengevine and a Linvala, Keeper of Silence.
Sooo, I opted for the Bloodchief package and added the lightning bursts to help get counters on it and get it online the on the turn after I play it. I like the synergy with blightning and pulse. Thinking about getting another pulse and maybe another ascension to stick in. I'm also thing about siding in sadistic sacrament to deal with eldrazi. Sooo, what do ya think?
Heh, cool, I got last place in mine, and I got the random bloodbraid elf too! also traded for noble hirearch, and eye of ugin, and some other stuff, and ended up getting 4 fetch lands, so I'm happy with my first FNM. Especially since I ran UW control instead of Jund....oh well.
Anyway, I had a good birthday today. Went and saw a movie, went to a docter's appointment, played some magic, got 3 booster packs from ZEN and pulled 6 rares, 2 of which were fetches. Another friend gave another fetch, and my dad bought me dinner. So all in all, not a bad day at all.
On another note, I'm gonna be going to my first friday night magic tomorrow. Decided to run Jund for it.
I was also thinking about UBW Aura. With Sovereigns of Lost Alara, you could really make a solid deck, I think. The idea of trying to kill something with flying, +18/+18, trample, lifelink, deathtouch, and annihilator 2 just frightens me....hehehe.....And then go and make another, lol.
Edit: Oh yeah, and you have to kill it 4 times, thanks to Totem armor, hehehe.....
Heh, I'm thinking about making G/W fortress. Basic idea, Throw as many walls on the field as possible, mana excel until you hit 15 mana, and drop Eldrazi left and right. Use the green mana wall and the draw wall along with harrow, hopefully will get some of the eldrazi lands too for the deck.
Yeah, I got some things to help finish off hypergenesis, and the jund deck only needs one more pulse and some mana ramp. Vampires needs a playset of nighthawks, and that is about it. Thanks to that, I now have 4 complete and decently competitive decks. 2 standard, and extended, and a casual control deck. Anyway, I'll post some deck lists tomorrow. I need to go to bed now.... Good night all!
