    ho k, so

i wonder how much they will go for on ebay in the begining.... taking into acount that hypee went for 100 ( foil 9th...in the VERY VERY begining) i think the sky's the limit for this bad boy...

Well theres one listed on 10/17 that has a starting bid of 39.99. I would imagagine it settles down to 20 once everyone gets there mailings.

I think everyone has to run at least one Flagstones of Trokair, since the "Minamo" rule applies: it is just a basic, with a bonus. You'd be dumb not to play it. Playing a plains over Flagstones would be something like playing Wandering Ones over Flying Men.

You should not always run at least 1 flagstones in every deck. The 2 cases I can think of off the top of my head are in a meta game with blood moon flagstone is worse, and if you have alot of basic land search like Rampant growth it might make a difference if you have only 2 plains in the deck vs 3. Cus if the stone rain your 2 other plains or something then you cant tutor for a white source.

Wow, I sure hope there is a playable pithing needle effect in the format. And no azorious guildmage, and voidslime don't count b/c they can just use the ability again next turn.

The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale.

So does anyone have any speculation as to why this happened?

And btw does anyone know what this auction was up to before it ended?

They just copied the Ravnica Theme Deck pricing to a page called time spiral and did a bad job of editing it.

There is no reason for the theme decks to be different prices, AC doesnt know the cards that are in them yet, they are just starting to prepare the page for when they recieve TS from the distributor.

Its intersting, but I dont see those colors being played together. Whats up with all the legend previews, is TS going to be like Champions block with lots of legendary stuff?

If theres a cheap effect to give Evil Eye of Urborg trample I could see it seeing some play in constructed. Not that great of a card but has potential.

Edit:In limited its balanced, if your oppenent has alot of token effects you have to think twice about playing it.

1st impressions sb tech vs control decks that run 1 or 2 creatures as win conditions.

Side note I havent been able to load the Wizards article yet and its been 15 minutes since it went live.

Edit:Waste of a rare slot why isn't this uncommon?

  • posted a message on [TS] Official WoTC Previews - Sept 4 (Sedge Sliver and Teferi)
Teferi is like a mana short/gigadrowse except so much better. You cast it end of thier turn and kill them with your combo when you untap. And if they counter Teferi you untap and win anyway cus they tap out trying to counter.

I think this card will be played in every control/combo deck that runs more then 1/3 of their manabase as blue. It would still see heavy play even it if didn't have flash.

  • posted a message on What do you think of Spell Snare?
I would say its a great card but never one you should maindeck unless you know the meta game very well.

Whenever I run spell snare I alway run 3 or 4 SB and only side it in agaisnt decks that run more then 8 2cc spells. The matchups where it realy shines is zoo, and husk.

If im running a aggro deck with blue in it I will sometimes side it to win jitte wars.

But like I said theres matchups where I dont like it, so I always put it in the board.

  • posted a message on Orb of Insight not showing reprints?
I dont think they are showing either. One of the leaked playtests cards, Daru Sanctifier, does not show. But that might because because the leaked playtest cards arent real.

Edit:Maybe you could add up all the mana costs and compare it to a set like ravnica. If it includes reprints you would expect there to be like 40-60% more mana costs in orb, then in a set like champions or ravnica.

Why not run it in addition to your Shock Lands and Pain Lands as a way to have absolute mana consistency? Also, when has anyone complained about thinning lands out of their deck, thus decreasing dead land draws late game?

For the same reason people dont run karoos in grull decks. The tempo loss is not worth the consistency gain.

Also my comments were meant for constructed formats only. In limited this is def going to be a high pick.

Dont get me wrong its a decent it card, its just not something you run in fast aggro decks.

    Regarding Terramorphic Expanse:

CIPT is the reason the duals go for $15, and the CIPT snow lands from CS go for $.50.

Having the option of having the mana availible the turn you play it makes it several times better, and more costly in terms of money.
Sure, several of the fetches are done eot, or 90% of rav duals are put into play tapped, but in the situations where there not done EOT, or the duals arent put into play tapped they should be creating a huge tempo swing for you.

And often time that tempo swing can mean the difference between winning and losing.

So in conclusion,Terramorphic Expanse is a good fixxer for budget decks, but there should almot always be better choices for tournament decks.

    Quote from CynicalSquirrel
The point he was making was that even late in the game acceleration like Birds of Paradise or Llanowar Elves serves some kind of purpose. This thing just doesn't. Past turn 3, this is an absolutely terrible topdeck, even worse than Birds or Elves are. And you can't expect to get it in your opening hand and have everything work out every game.

Ok I can agree with that. But you have more of a chance of drawing a single lotus, as opposed to some birds/ste/elves god draw. Late in the game like past your 1-3rd draw it is pretty horrible, but in some decks that risk is worth it.

Edit:Its comprable to chrome mox, its strictly worse then a land late game (except in affinity maybe), but decks still run it because when it comes down turn 1 it makes it so much easier to win.
