I'd love to see you chump block with Lotus Bloom.

Well golly gee I can just block with the stuff I played on turns 1 and 2 instead of blocking with a bird and losing a mana source.

Ill just throw my ismaru and watchwolf i played on turn 1 and turn2. And wow I kill there creature and they only kill one of mine. So instead of blocking with a bird and losing a creature and them losing nothing, I get to kill one of there creatures too.

The better arguement would be that they can counter lotus bloom, but even then that should let me resolve something else from my hand (b/c they have to tap at least 2 mana during my upkeep).

To those of you saying this card is bad because there are better ways to get 7 mana on turn 4 (with birds, ste) etc, I disagree.

If you go birds, ste or whatever accel you choose, you waste turn 1 casting elves/birds and you waste turn 2 casting another accel spell.

With this card you have turns 1-2 to cast OTHER cards, or you can cast more accel on turns 1-2 and have 10 mana on turn 4.

And not to mention with this card you get 7 mana on turn 4 if you start with it in your hand. In your birds/Ste senarios you have to have 3 cards between your 1st 3 draws and opening hand.

That makes this a more consitent way of getting 7 mana on turn 4, and it will probably be run in addition to other accel like birds/ste.

Just imagines if you start with multiples........drool. I truly think this card is going to be great, a 4-of in every deck.
Its like turn 3 seething song but better.

Edit: this is nuts with erayo. Play erayo turn 3, then turn 4 you have a ton of mana plus a spell was already played that turn.

Against Jitte you can kill jitte and they can't use the counters. it gets the Seals. any enchantment with an activatable effect, stuff like that.. Or you could just cast a card you don't want countered not pass priority and then cast grip..

Negatory on making a spell uncounterable. Once anything with split second resolves the other thing will still be on the stack waiting to get countered/resolve.

Business doesn't work that way. It would cost Hasbro even more money to fire and dismantle these departments than it would to keep them around. You forget about things such as pensions, retirement plans. Yes, it costs them money to fire you. Not to mention the useless office space now created by the dismanteling.

Not to mention lost market share, lost mouth to mouth advertising and other costs that are not readily apparent to the layman.

But im saying if the magic portion of Hasbro was its own company it would be very profitable, and the prices would not be rising right now.

North American segment revenues, which include all of the Company's toys and games business in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, were $362.0 million for the quarter, compared to $388.0 million in 2005. This $26.0 million decline reflects a $47.7 million decline in STAR WARS, which was partially offset by growth in PLAYSKOOL, MAGIC: THE GATHERING, LITTLEST PET SHOP, NERF, G.I. JOE, TRANSFORMERS and board games. The North American segment reported an operating profit of $30.4 million, compared to $25.4 million last year, which has been adjusted to include the impact of stock-based compensation.

So basicaly magic players are getting shafted. We are being charged more because other divisions of hasbro are losing money, and even tho the magic division is doing good they have to charge more because oter divisions of the compay are under performing.

Man good thing I dont work at Hasbro. I'd fire people from the underperforming divisions before I raised prices of the succesful divisions.

So basicaly paying more for magic cards just allowed incompetent people in the underperforming divisions to keep there jobs.

Edit:Furthermore the price increases have more to do with offeseting poor performing divisions then they do with matching increased prices to produce magic cards.

There is no reason to increase prices to meet increasing production cost when the volume of magic cards sold has increased far faster then the production costs of magic.

O well thats corporate america for you, instead of hasbro taking responsibilty and firing people (to lower expenses) who dont know how to do thier jobs, they increase prices instead of a completly unrelated product.

    Quote from possu

im hypothesizing here that there TS has 121 purple expansion symbol cards, which are in essence, a different set.

I too think there are 121 purple expansion symbol cards. However I think these cards are reprints that are part of the 301 set size.

I think when a card is reprinted in TS it has 2 expansion symbols, a purple one and a normal one. This makes it easier for new players to know what cards are reprints.

I dont think it would make sense to have TS being a bigger set when Coldsnap is essentialy part of the TS block in terms of rotation in/out dates. It would make more sense that there are 160 new cards +20 lands + 121 reprint in TS.

I have posted this information in other threads as well, but as soon as a purple symbol card is spoiled I will be proved wrong or right.

can this do anything post rotation or is it gonna try to be playable in extended only?

The snakes archetype will be dead, but other u/g decks might run some of the cards from this deck like oracle, and viper (patagia and orhan).

Ssssssiiiiiiiicccccckkkkkkk of limited! WOTC, stop pushing it on us. I've played soooo much limited this season that I'm ready to get back to play a normal constructed Q, only to find MORE limited this year and a 2HG PT next year!!!!!

That was exaclty what I was thinking. Theres no way there should be back to back limited q's theres to many people who dislike limited. If they need 2 limited q's a season then they need to bring back the 5th q and have 3 constructed q's in the same season. (I dont know but it would seem like even people who like limited would get sick of back to back limited q's).

Having slighlty more contructed q's then limited seems to please the most people.

The only way a type II card would reach $50 is if there was a much shorter print run or something. Like if people couldnt buy booster boxes of the set like a week after it came out and wizards stopped printing more, then you might expect to see insanely high singles prices.

Even if TS is bigger then normal the only way the chase rares will be significantly higher is if the rest of the set is horrible because then people wont buy boxes. As long as there are enough good cards in TS people will buy boxes and there will be enough chase rares in circulation.

Also RAV duals are not porprtionaly higher then GP duals. The reason that didnt happen was because the duals werent the only "chase" rares in rav, there was hierarch, char, confident, birds so people bought boxes at a high enough rate to prevent chase rares from going to high.

Anyway my theory is that if a set is bad the chase rares will be worth more b/c less people buy boxes. This is more of a factor then set size. There is some proof that this is true b/c pithing needle (a chase rare from a set w/55 rares) was more expensive then a rav dual (from a set w/88 rares) when rav came out b/c there werent enough people buying saviors boxes.

This schedule is bad. After a limited heavy season this year, you would think they would have only 1 limited this year. I hate limited, I guess this means waitng out another qualifer season.

If there going to add a format (2HG) then they should have kept the 5th qualifiying season for a non traditional format.

If I were designing the seasons I would have gone
    1:Type II
    2:Extended
    3:Limited
    4:Block
5:2HG Limited (if there is a 5th season)
not nessacarly in that order (although block would be when the whole block is in the format)

They should not waste half the qualifiing seasons with limited because theres alot of players that dont play limited. To please everbody if they realy want 2 limited qualifiers they should do 3 constructed formats (extended, Type II, block)

O man I can't believe the husk vote was so close. They only format angel is playable in is casual.

Anyway this week I voted for mindstone, pretty much every other deck will have a 2 power creature by the time you start attacking with it. I could realy care less though because I won't play either card.

Lately the votes have been kind of disapointing, they don't seem to affect constructed at all.

This is the most obvious vote I've ever seen. Clearly you vote for husk and hope that the angel slot goes to a playable rare. I mean neither card is that great (husk is good only because of other cards in the format right now) but still angel is always unplayable so why not vote husk and open up a rare slot and hope for something playable in it.

So to sum up if you vote husk you get 1 sorta playable (depending on the rest of the cards in the format) card plus the chance of a playable rare.

If you vote angel you get 0 playable cards and waste a rare slot.

what does this deck not like to see when playing against R>b aggro.

Pyroclasm before seshiro is good, and Kindle the Carnage could work too.

Edit: summons is probably the most troublesome card in this match, im not sure if it would be worth it to side in extraction to get rid of it.

I'm not sure if its been announced yet, but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know what the 2007 pro tour season schedule is. I basicaly just want to know what format the next PT qualifiers after worlds will be.

If the schedule isn't out yet do you know when wizards will post it?
