After making combo Maelstrom Wanderer and starting to hate doing the same thing all over again, I'm revamping it with mostly aggressive creating and I need your help to find some good creatures at 4 and 7 mana cost. At 5 there's way some things like Malignus, Xenagos, Kalonian Hydra which are really cool but at 4 and 7 cmc I cant find anything (other than atarka avenger and balefire). What can you suggest? Anything between 3 and 7 mana cost is welcome
After I use a spell or ability do I have the choice to keep the priority to continue using spells/abilities (while my spell/ability) is still on the stack or am I obligated to pass priority?
note that he can activate deed in response to you using wirewood to untap the llanowar elves(which I suppose yure doing to get extra mana to cast the grip)
as said above you get priority but BEFORE the ability resolves which you need to pass to your opponent before it resolves. when he passes it back you can use grip
I've been debating picking this deck up, since it's one of my favorite color combinations and I like the utility it has. My only problem is that it seems to auto-scoop against some combo decks. What do you use other than Thalia? How about Silence or Orim's Chant? How do you beat Forgemaster and Belcher?
Forgemaster AUTOSCOOPS to Stony Silence. For combo like belcher or ANT there's ethersworn cannonist and mindbreak trap. I use Enlightened tutor to get those two and haven't tested mindbreak trap as they usually duress you before anyways
So the charm effects will be: one effect one color can do for one mana, one effect second color can do for one mana, one effect both colors can do for one mana
Vintage laughs at this card because it costs more than 1 and doesnt win the game. I even doubt it will see play in Legacy.
On-topic: I stopped playing the game but I think that with RtR I will be spending some money on drafts the set looks really fun
BTW, Garruk, some of us play for the fun, the gamemanship, the spirit of competition, and maybe think about going up in levels. When you win one after going x-4, x-3, 0-x for ages...it feels good.
I play for the spirit of competition and this is why I don't understand why people go epic happy for winning an FNM. If you win a PTQ I will gladly read your story but an FNM is just boring unless you have a LOT of people and who aren't just playing for fun.
What FORCES you to buy that? You dont HAVE to play modern or competitive modern
Where did you get such prices? I have never seen Decay under 10 preorder, hellkite under 15 and griselbrand under 15 O_o

I don't think you've ever played with Phyrena. It can win games by itself
Hypergenesis isn't even a tier 1 deck it's like a bad Show and Tell imo but against that deck you can play Ethersworn Cannonist, chalice of the void for 0, and phyrexian metamorph which all get tutored by enlightened tutor
