Hi there! Thank you for writing such a thoughtful and well written primer. I'm going to sleeve something similar to this for my Tuesday night EDH.
A quick note after reading through the primer. A few times you mention that Boros Charm serves as spot removal or a way to clear away blockers. I think you may have misread the card at some point as the 4 damage can only hit players. Perhaps you were referring to the Double Strike mode, but regardless I found the language confusing.
It is worth noting that this draft started before the format had been fully fleshed out and means that people didn't have those biases when they made their first few picks.
For what it's worth, I don't think one should expect that card to wheel. Most people I've been listening to have been in love with that card and would guess it is moving up people's pick orders.
This is a pretty clear Cliffhaven Vampire to me. Looking back over the first pack, it was abundantly clear that Green was not an open color which implies we'll get very little or nothing at all in the third pack. Given how terrible Green is in BFZ, I don't want to take a risk on a Green card here when we have a perfectly good Black card that compliments some of our other Black cards.

Anyways, thanks again for the write up!
You realize this card is pretty decent in Limited, right?
We also got a very nice wheel in another Shoulder to Shoulder.
Totally agree! I like having that card around, especially when I am full of support cards.
Matter Reshaper is good, but I kind of feel like taking another Isolation Zone.
