Just a question, have any of you tried splashing green just for Mayor of Avabruck in a draw go version ?
I experimented with it in the weekend and it wrecked opponents by himself if they didn't deal with it. I thought I'd put it out there since it was actually rather impressive.
Even when (because at a certain point you WILL flip it back with snapcaster + flashback), beating in with a pumped Snappy felt great
I am looking forward to what kind of results you have with it. Hopefully you will like it as much as I do right now. I at least am very comfortable and confident with 3-of in my list.
I think it works better in a Hard control list.
Edit: Made another video just now, this time it's vs that Boom Bust deck. Audio has issues but just mute it and play your own playlist if you wish.
The thing about the problem cards listed is that I can properly deal with them anyways in the late game. I am of the opinion that getting to the late game is far more important and Mana Tithe countering every spell early made sure that happens.
I recommend trying it. You'll be surprised how it will perform.
Hopefully you can check this out since i've had some trouble with youtube because of the music but here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJi1mOXo7r4 in the first minute you can see what I mean. Ramp decks are becoming rather popular and Mana Tithe changed my opponent's playstyle completely. If you decide to watch the whole video, just remember that list is one where I was still tweaking stuff. But by then I already was dead set on Mana Tithe as I was testing and playing.. You'll see when Mana Tithe is dead compared to Spell Snare and you'll see the application of how I use it. It's a hidden Thalia.
I must say I am very pleased with how this is doing.
The card that stands out most would probably be modern's Force Spike --> Mana Tithe . I have been testing this card over Spell Snare and honestly it will not leave the list unless someone manages to convince me otherwise. I've taken many people by surprise with it and its presence alone makes your opponents play around it. Last point....countering turn 1 Discard spells is sweet and even when they resolve on the play and you happen to have a Tithe in hand,...opponents 4/5 times take Tithe on turn 1.
"But Yesiamaruban, .... in the lategame it's simply a dead card"
Yeah sure I would say but so is Spell Snare in my opinion and Mana Tithe counters that turn 2 play (not just 2 cmc card) just as well. My final argument for Mana Tithe is that it plays really well with Remand
First off, I testing the hell out of Ancestral Visions and Sphinx's Revelation and while I like the cards and especially revs....I cut them both main and sided 1 Rev and added the 3 think twice and opened up spots for more stuff I wanted . Both other options are simply too slow and in the case of revs I hated casting it for 1 or 2 and it rarely resolved vs control decks in the late game. Another card that has been relatively easy to deal with but annoying nonetheless is Reality Smasher and pitching Think Twice to it feels great
The lack of Crucible is simply because I haven't found a way to actually play it and the decks that are on Xmage I usually can beat without it even when they are ramping and or Tron. It's either that or I am the better player every single time which I doubt is the case.
Lastly for now, I am not sure if I should play 1 mana leak 2 logic knot or as I have it right now 2 leak 1 knot. One thing is for sure though, Logic Knot has been amazing!
Soooooo, I got tired of playing Gobots and went back to brewing a UW list for fun. Turns out, even with my mediocre skills it's not so bad. So decided to make some videos and post them on Youtube for your viewing pleasure! More videos will be uploaded at a later time because apparently my vids were all violating copyrights. So hopefully you can watch it.
I've been retired from magic but the bug hit me a bit again and I went on Xmage with an updated Kuldotha Red list that has been performing REALLY well. Leaving out the sideboard because that is still under development. But the main list is rather solid. The sideboard of the old list (if you clicked the link) is where I am going with it I think. But like I said, sideboard i'm still working on and in fact, i'd like suggestions for it.
Good to hear Aruban. There have been a fair number of other players having success with Gobots and everyone has their own take on it. I like your use of Chimeric Mass. I will give it a spin some time. As for suggestions, I would remove the Mox for Burning Tree Emissary and try to add Devastating Summons. Here is also a good resource for kuldotha based decks: http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/developing-competitive-modern/220256-goblins?page=150#c3796 As new as it is it already needs updating, but enjoy.
I cannot seem to agree with your Burning Tree assessment. I've just tried it in 5 matches and I immediately understood and felt that Mox was superior in my list. There are a number of reasons why. 1st Burning Tree Emissary's cost is actually not good in my list and I feel the only reason it was there was to bushwhack "for free". Problem with that is that it only works for Reckless Bushwhacker and not the kicker of Goblin Bushwhacker . Notice I avoided 2 mana spells at all cost in the main. Spell snare is a pain and it stops everything I wanna do because of it if Emissary is part of the list. 2nd, It's not an artifact to fuel rebirth. Mox opal leads to some very explosive plays early, including turn 1 Reckless Bushwhacker paying surge. 3rd It let's me get away with 18 lands with 2 contested war zone (extra Whacks). It used to 16 last year. 4th, it also triggers surge very well. 5th, this list can function on 1 mana... Emissary has the problem I had with wardriver before, it's simply annoying to cast because of its cost (as ridiculous as it sounds, i'm actually serious).
All in all Burning Tree Emissary didn't perform like I wanted it to and I really urge you to try my list out. I went back and saw your list. Played it, and while it felt powerful (it truly is), it felt slower compared to mine. This is of course an opinion i'd like your take on as well.
Devastating Summons is a card very dear to me. Love it, played it and I am trying to figure out the numbers to play it again. It's very very very powerful indeed and if you looked at the outdated list I posted via the link you'll see that It's very much part of the strategy going forward. It's just that I haven't felt the need to tinker with my current list, yet. But it's on the testing list.

I haven't experienced that but there are other things that bother me though. (Although I've read online that people have the same issues as OP).
My problem is a bit more in actual play experience I think.
I think the timer system is too loose. I am not talking about the buggy issues either. A few times already, noticeable from a certain crew (recogniseable by their names), in ranked matches when I am about to win, my opponents just won't pass priority. Longest time I've waited was like an hour and nothing. Unsportsmanlike behaviour is totally exploitable if the "Stop Timer" doesn't have a slower timer on it. 30 seconds should be more than enough here. The problem here lies that I am unable to report these people anywhere ingame.
I also think in ranked matches that one shouldn't finish vs an AI if the opponent concedes. What is the point in ranking up vs AI? I think the win should just be awarded if that happens. I don't think this can be exploited either since ranked matches seems randomly paired to an extent.
There is also an issue with Chandra flipping. I've double checked the rules and I am sure that pinging an opponent, untapping chandra and successfully attacking in one turn should flip Chandra. Not happening. I did see one flip when I Fiery Inquiry'd (for 3 dmg) one after my opponent attempted to ping me. I've lost and won a few matches due to technicalities that I've had no business winning or losing. Chandra example used LOST me that game for example.
Finally, I disagree wholeheartedly with the coin limit. You know what is fun? Earning my coins and achievements. It feels productive and satisfying. You know what isn't fun? Capping out with the will to play the game even more for boosters but having to wait 24 hours before being able to win stuff. Once capped on earned coins I feel no need to play anymore because I cannot continue building my collection (which is an achievement as well). Slowing me down is unfun
