This commander set includes surprisingly large amount of cards I want to try to include and test.

    Here's my list.

    Includes
    Primaris Eliminator
    Necron Deathmark
    Chaos Defiler

    Testing
    Old One Eye

It's not as beefy as Necron Deathmark, but I like the flexibility. I think I'll be replacing both Shriekmaw and the Lich with both of them.

I think the best comparison is the Lich. Destroy is better than sacrifice and the stats are better (5/3 vs 4/2).

Monarch part of the Lich are always are hard to rate for me. Sometimes you draw bunch of cards, sometimes your opponent do that too. You might get more value from being Monarch again but I don't know if that is better than Flash/more stats/having destroy effect. I think I might like this card more.

Maybe I'll give it a shot over Custodi Lich and test if it's better. I don't want to drop my number of removal in black that much because I already drop the 2 mana variant and edict though.

    For me it'd look like

1.) Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes
    2.) Wrenn and Six
    3.) Dragonlord Atarka
    4.) Klothys, God of Destiny

After that it's dependent on what you really want to support more: Territorial Kavu / Manamorphose work well with domain (and Manamorphose for storm), Bloodbraid Elf if you lean more aggressive, Mawloc if you want more midrange / ramp / etc.

I actually like this card more than Klothys. I guess the power level is pretty close that cube manager preferences are making so many cardlist all over the places lol.

I think it's an interesting card. Even 5 mana for 4/4 that break into 4 1/1 when it dies isn't so bad. It being in mono color also help. I'm not sure if I have a cut for it, but it's a card I want to try for couple of games.

I think this is a lot better than BBE. Would not be shocked if it was a top 4/5 Gruul card — the 2 mana mode is strong, 3 mana mode strong, 4 mana mode strong, 7 mana mode is great. At pretty much any point in the curve you’re getting meaningful removal and a solid body.

Considering BBE is universally agree as best Gruul card few years ago, I'm curious to hear you ranking of Gruul cards. It's been a few years since I return to cube so I might be missing a lot of cubable Gruul cards all of a sudden. I'm guessing Minsc and Wrenn are #1 and #2, but is there like 3 more better cards than BBE now since a card that is apparently "a lot" better than BBE can now only be #4 or #5 in cube?

+1/+1 stats are huge early game and die to removal never apply to 2 drop before in cube card evaluation.

I’d say that removal has gotten a lot more low to the ground in the past few years, and people love to bolt a bird. This card gets Pushed, Cut Down, Thirsted, Bolted, Chain Lightning’s, Pathed, Swords’d, and Dismembered all for one mana. Caryatid just doesn’t. There’s also times I’m not ramping into creatures but fixing for a creature lite deck, and I’d rather just have my ramp stick.

I don't run Fatal Push/Cut Down (I run Thirsted though) because the restriction for low mana is too much against reanimate deck in 360. I rather my removal card being able to remove more creatures. Otherwise, you'll just lose the match.

I don't run Sylvan Caryatid as well and I don't think this card is good enough either. I think 2 mana being able to be good enough to be drawing away removal is a positive thing overall though.

If this is mono color, it would have been a staple.

As is, I even like BBE more than this tbh. I don't think it crack the top 4 of Gruul rn.

I'm not sure this is better than caryatid. Being essentially guaranteed to untap with caryatid is huge, and this dies to all bolt variants and every piece of removal. The bonus counter is nice but I don't think that makes up for losing hexproof.

I think it's better than Sylvan Caryatid, but I still like Wall of Roots more.

It's a decent card, but this doesn't crack top 3 of Izzet. I'm not even sure if this would be a budget version, given it seem to be commander decks exclusive.
