Doesn't make it in a high-powered cube environment, but certainly a fun card with high potential so I wouldn't fault anyone for including it. Teferi loves this card
2/1 menace for 1B is not awesome - but getting a Demonic Tutor out of the deal after it inevitably kicks the bucket is interesting. This could see play in any black deck with an aggressive game plan.
You know, I dismissed this one at first but after thinking it through some more, I think this card is stronger than it looks. I'm not missing Fact or Fiction but I could see testing this. Getting, at instant speed, either the best card out of five and an air elemental OR a thopter and drawing four seems great. Yes your opponent chooses, but they're probably effed whatever they choose.
Odd question, but what are thoughts on the fifth and sixth best four drops in white?
For clarity, I'm looking to replace Felidar Guardian in my 720 cube. The idea of Saheeli combo was a nice one, but it's literally never came up in such a large card pool.
I'm already running these (in no particular order):
I'm considering Luminous Broodmoth. I've also been intrigued by Triumph of Saint Katherine (though, not a 4-drop) after seeing it played in recent Legacy events.
Alternatively, I've considered also looking to drop the curve a tiny bit and replace Guardian with a cheaper card. Just looking for thoughts.
We're not currently cubing with the white and green landcyclers from LotR. Eagles because of Timeless Dragon, and Ent because green has many other ways to fetch lands.
That said, landcycling 1 is such a strong effect on any card that they'd 100% see play if we threw them in. So the question is mainly, do you want to give a cube slot to the card or not.
I'm not looking at this as a discard outlet but purely as an aggressive piece of equipment. Just play this in a black aggro deck, discard one of the many self-recurring creatures to equip and go to town. Grafted Wargear has shown how powerful 'free' equip costs are, and this equipment only costs a grand total of 1 mana, which has no precedent.
Obviously supporting black aggro is a prerequisite for this card to be good.
Any takers for this angry primate?

Anyone tempted?
I think Angel of Invention, Guardian Scalelord, and Boon-bringer Valkyrie are the best of those, in that order.
I think all of those are stronger than Luminous Broodmoth.
