which is why it most likely won't.
if the green one doesn't get trample, then i'd bet the black one doesn't get fear.
either that or the info we have is wrong and genju of the fens actually is a 3/3 with fear, but the partial pic from the article has a " in the beginning of a line which leads me to believe that it's a 'has "/ability/"' (or however it's phrased these days...) line.
the lack of trample is quite disappointing.
however i suppose it'd be a little overpowered for an uncommon were that true.
i still think black > green > blue > red > white.
the evasion of the blue one is good, but the butt is easily taken care of.
and the 6 power of the red one is amazing, but that 1 butt is something i'm awfully worried about, though i'm sure there're decks that'll accomodate all five.
meh...
:puke: in t2.
polly :puke: in block.
maybe > river kaijin in limited, if you've the worthwhile creature enchantments.
someday we'll see the good cards in this set (i hope...).
i'd play him in t2...
maybe replacing chittering rats...
though the rats' ability is a one-time, guaranteed (assuming it resolves) one, whereas toshi's is conditional.
but i think the potential power toshi has surely outweighs his vulnerabilities.
kiki-jiki is a 2/2 and he sees play, despite all the removal spells listed in this thread...
better than most of the other 2 drops for a samurai deck.
the ability is neat i guess, but i wouldn't build a deck around it nor would i over-tweak my mana base because i'm playing it...
i'm not so sure that the white one < the red one.
maybe it's just my predilection for control builds...
i know a 6/1 for 2 is a nice thing to have, but - all things being equal - only 0 power creatures won't trade with it (though a mountain-for-2/2-or-better seems like it'd oft be good). a 2/5 for 2 would be no better if it weren't for the added bonus of gaining 2 life.
in the end, however, i suppose you really can't compare an aggro card to a control card so i'll be lame and call them both useful.
In a situation where an all-out attack will serve the boardposition of your opponent, he will declare an all out attack anyways. So that point is moot.
So, a card that kills your opponents best creature every turn is not considered good? How about if that card also tapped all your opponents creatures?
way to miss the point.
or perhaps: way to skim the post.
that was under the heading: "board position: opponent > yours."
this means they have more, better creatures than you do so it benefits them to be the aggro deck anyhow. in that case, they WANT to be attacking you.
also, fumiko doesn't just tap their creatures it makes them attack, and attacking does damage. damage can kill creatures, YOUR creatures, thus leaving you in the same, worse, or only slightly better board position.
of course there are specific situations where i could see myself saying 'gee, you know what... i really wish i had fumiko in play right now!' but i've said that about a lot of crappy cards before (usually because they'd keep me from losing the game). but it seems (to me at least) that fumiko rarely improves you board position significantly when you're behind against an aggro deck.

more of the same...
okay in limited, crap anyplace else.
-aNia_
the common is also crap.
we're up to like 70 something cards and most of them are crap.
i guess that means either:
1) this set will be crap.
2) the cards we haven't seen yet are amazing.
please be 2) so the case i pre-ordered won't be a waste of $400...

the black one is a decent SB chioce if you expect your meta to be ninja-heavy.
at least they're not crap rares, like hero's demise...

sideboardable in: neo-sligh

i could be wrong though.

isn't that what i said?

if you target with okina or eiganjo, those abilities get countered so your shock still kills it.
