As will each other colour. Some may be better than others... or some may be redundant? Like, every blue ability will be 3U Draw a card. Its a very boring way to do it, though.
More mega than mega... a hyper cycle. Note that these are all enemy colour swords: Does that imply allied colour swords (effects)? Perhaps other weapons in Ravnica may include so far under-used weapons, such as staves, axes, daggers...
I wonder if theres going to be a spirit link variant... to put on Coulhauler Swine.
Sounds to me like liger has little or no trust in WOTC to make the set work... meh.
Maybe because Yosei was the first dragon previewed on mtg.com, and a couple of fat white creatures(Akroma, Exalted, Eternal Dragon) were just rotating out, and people wanted something to switch to without changing colours.
Kokusho, however... the only fat black creature I can think of rotating out was Grinning Demon. Black really didn't get much play in Onslaught.
If they did something like this, I'd expect to see it in Dissension, the third set of the block, where they take block themes and go crazy with them.
Usually with block mechanics they take them and work them out over the whole block, HOWEVER, we know that each guild has its own mechanic. The question is, will they take a guild mechanic and play with it through the whole block (like with morph in onslaught, threshold in oddysey, affinity in Mirrodin) or will they have a non-guild mechanic which they play with? (Or will they not play with anything at all)
No, I'm just annoyed when people try to defend clearly poorly thought out choices. Either they don't understand why it's a bad choice, or they don't care that bad choices are being made... that's fine. But to come along later and say "oh, but see... uh... Kodamas Might and Reach count" doesn't cut it, it reaks of revisionist history. What's more annoying, however, is that Saviors had several big, green legends that could have been the kodamas of E+W. But they copped out. And saying they didn't is just rubbing salt on the wound. Skullclamp? Broken, MOVE ON. Jitte? Broken, MOVE ON. Kodamas and Ninjitsu cheated? MOVE ON. When we examine past blocks, we talk about it. We don't need to try and justify it, WOTC does enough of that on their own.
The kodama's aren't trees, they are the spirits of trees. Rarely is a second expansion mechanic redone in the third set: Modular seems to be the exception. Was there provoke in scourge? was there madness in Judgement? There are always exceptions. Read this article:
From the guy who conceived the kodama, no less.
I don't think he can prove anything, as wizards is always trying new things.
I too think that a combat mechanic should be the Boros guilds mechanic. Radiance has its advantages, but they seem more of a combat based guild. Provoke is great, although some of the provoke cards were dissapointing in legions. (Lowland tracker, while a good morph killer, hasn't got much else going for him)
So black could have 3 mana 3 lifeloss because 2(3) discard for 2(3) mana would be to powerful.
While there is a 2/2 3/3 correlation between the two CIP Aura's, its probably not a good idea to jump to conclusions this early on, when we only have two. While the initial idea may follow the 2/2 3/3 etc. correlation, doesn't R&D tweak the prices of cards? Plus, 3 mana-3 lifeloss is directly inferior to the 3 damage of Galvanic Arc (as it targets players, too) in terms of utility. 2 mana, 3 lifeloss, or even 2 mana, 2 lifedrain is what I would predict.
maybe i have been playing too much gifts recently, but the first thing that occured to me when i saw clutch of the undercity, and transmute in general, was that it is totally rediculous with top... it makes top not a green card anymore!
i thinkclutch is fairly strong, although a bit expensive. The netire transmute mechanic though, seems really powerful. How do some people not see it?
Phil.
I read this, and realised that gifts has the same CMC as Clutch. Which I plan to get plenty of.
I'm guessing Excruciator is a timmy card. If ever I make a red fatty deck, for some reason, its going in there along with Dragon Tyrant, Myojin of Infinite Rage, Butcher Orgg, and Bosh, Iron Golem.

Contract from below is legal now?

What about that YMTC card? Or is that power good, toughness bad?
I like that briarknit elemental. Its asking for an enchantress deck.
Yes, they were kind of... imagine morph creatures that flip... into lands. Or enchantments. Or... what? artifacts?
