I'm just getting around to updating my cube for the last few sets, I was wondering what you would play in the Naya/Jund/Bant slots if I am playing Noble/Ignoble Hierarch in Green and don't support Green Aggro for Nacatl?
Aren't cards like Prophet of Kruphix, Seedborn Muse, and Unwinding Clock a total non-bo with Stasis? You skip untap steps so you don't get to untap. But yea Stasis is absurd if you can get it to work, I'd probably never play it because its probably one of the least fun magic cards ever.
Is it just me or are the legendary creatures that have been revealed so far rather underwhelming, none of them really seem to be 'build around me'.
The new Sidisi and the new Dromoka really appeal to me, but none of them have jumped out at me as being particularly 'build around me' (except possibly Sidisi, who could quite easily be built around for a combo deck).
Yea those are the two that are the most interesting to me, but the new Liliana from Magic Origins looks like a more interesting Mono-black commander to me so I'll probably shelve that for now. I might make a GW Hatebears deck with Dromoka, I was considering doing it with Anafenza before but black didn't seem all that necessary.
I guess I could see Inquisition being almost playable in the extreme case that everyone in your meta is playing Mono white and you were desperate for white hate, but I have to imagine there are better White hate cards like Virtue's Ruin or Dread of Night. Cool name though.
Even if its not too powerful for Standard I think it goes against their current philosophy so the chances of counterspell getting reprinted are basically nil.
I'm not really playing devotion for the gods, I'm playing devotion because Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is extremely powerful and Temur Sabertooth plus a land untapper like Voyaging Satyr and a haste outlet like Fires of Yavimaya with 7 or more devotion generates infinite mana. Even without the Sabertooth, land untappers and Nykthos can generate tons of mana if you have a fair amount of devotion.
The strategy I'm going for is sort of twofold, there is the ramp with Nykthos and untappers and then there is the Pod/Survival/Sabertooth plan to just play a bunch of value creatures and pod them or bounce them with Sabertooth to generate a lot of CA while I try and assemble something. The second strategy gets better with more colors because it gives us more to pick from in terms of creatures with ETB effects and other utility like Knight of the Reliquary to find Nykthos.
So after seeing the Temur Ascendancy deck in Standard I thought it would be neat to take the idea to EDH since Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is a pretty powerful card and we get access to better land tutors, more untappers, and more haste outlets. Temur Sabertooth also seems pretty sweet without the combo potential as it gives you some sweeper protection and it lets you bounce your value creatures to give you the potentially to grind better.
My two questions are is it worth essentially splashing a third color for access to some more utility creatures or would you think that would water down my devotion strategy too much? The other is: is it worth it to play relatively unexciting creatures like Leatherback Baloth just because they are cheap and add a lot of devotion?
Sun Titan seems pretty good, I know it was pretty popular in Vintage at some point since you can just Deed for X=5 every single turn to sort of soft-lock your opponents.
Its got two white mana symbols for Nykthos/Heliod but other than that its probably unplayable except maybe Tiny Commanders since it is a cheap evasive creature that has some resilience to removal.
Arc Lightning isn't strictly better because it costs more mana. Arc Trail might be pretty decent in French or Tiny Leaders but there is unfortunately a lot of competition for burn so maybe not.

I'm playing on playing Xenagos, God of Revels if I stay RG and then its a toss up between Maelstrom Wanderer and Surrak Dragonclaw for Temur and I'm not sure about Naya or Jund.
