The R/W sword (if they do not complete the cycle) and most likely Indomitable Archangel will be mythic.
I like the Zendikar synergy with this guy and other SOM cards (Koth), really boosts Zendikar's power. I like how their are a lot of casual mythics as well as playable ones. Reminds me of M11.
The Phyrexians are THE baddest of enemies in the world of Magic. I remember when Urza's Saga came out, the Phyrexians were so cool. Yawgmoth, the evincars, Crovax defeating Volrath for dominance over the Phyrexian forces in the Mercadian block. I loved every set following the story of these dark forces. I can't wait to see the power struggle, the drama unfolding over the course of three sets, between the Mirrans and the Phyrexians.
I wish the story would go something like this, but i have a small feeling the only true Phyrexian thing is the oil. Everything else is just phyrexanised mirrans. But what do i know WotC is too unpredictable.
I think the D&D thing would only apply to Zendikar. Lorwyn had a interesting theme. Mirrodin? Giant robots, metal angels and dragons with jetpack wings...seems pretty unique to me. I think thats the most sci-fi its going to get in the near future.
Also, if we return to the new world blocks after SOM, I'm sure there will be many new strange settings (Victorian?).
Lets hope that koth will be also good. Otherwise, welcome U/W Domination for this type 2 season.
Someone from WotC said that Koth would be the most powerful PW in the set, lets just hope that it is true
I hope they start showing off actual phyrexians soon.
It's a small thing, but I'd be willing to bet Ghalma the Shaper is the name of a legendary creature somewhere in the block. He/she was quoted in Tempered Steel's flavor text. It's way too specific a name not to get used, at least in the book if not on a card.
I thought they usually did this with flavour text, making up characters that are not depicted on cards. I thought 'the Shaper' meant he is like a steel shaper like Auriok Steelshaper, but who knows.
If this is real...cool I like elspeth's token generating awesome. There goes the Elspeth is G/W. Mox opal seems nifty, not so much as the other moxes but still cool,
Edit: Mox is Mythic? at least its a much limited mox.
Edit2: Why does the mox have a Mirran watermark, the art looked dark. This makes me wonder what treats New phyrexia are going to get.
Also: Why is no one up in arms about me claiming tez will be U/B?
That should seem equally outlandish
Because Tez being U/B would make sense as he is now in bolas's hands. Something similar happened to Sarkhan. Elspeth, on the other hand, with the information we have shows no evidence that she gains green except for the image. Of course, Wizards might develop her charcter in future books/comics, but right now there is no flavour behind this theory. I don't think they would make her W/G just because they wanted to represent green in the block's planeswalker cycle.
Geth's Mephidross vampire was not the only vampire on Mirrodin.
From the wiki on vampires:
The warlord Geth kept what he believed to be the only Mephidross Vampire as his personal bodyguard until it was defeated by Glissa. Like all of the creatures on Mirrodin, Mephidross Vampires are partly metallic.
So I think we will see some vampires but not as much as Zendikar as Phyrexians clash with the amount of black cards. Mephidross vampire coming back is pretty likely, maybe even as a mythic rare, as it was popular back in the Mirrodin days. Although, I think Wizards might want to keep the number of Mirrodin reprints to a minimum, so who knows.
I think the whole G/W thing is because she is a Bant legend, and that it seems like Planeswalkers (with the exception of Jace) change their color affiliation with a new incarnation (Sarkhan, Ajani). Just my 2 cents.
Chandra Ablaze?
The whole G/W thing is because she has a green tint in her art. I see little reason for her to go green unless they want a PW to represent green and change her personality.
SirMcHalls - FtVs dont count rarity as stuff like Kird Ape and lotus Petal make the only rarity, mythic rare.
What do you guys think will be the Myr intro-pack?
Masticore is nice, sweet art.
I have to make a myr deck now.
Geth - 2
Throne of Geth?

Playability:
1. Koth/Elspeth
2. Swords
3. Mox Opal
4. Venser
5. Wurm/Skithiryx (if it can find a home)
Rest

That image is for the next set, Mirrodin Besieged.
-2 Weeks after release Mox Opal - $9.99
I cant see this going under 15. It has potential and everyone would want one just because its a mox.
