all im saying is that if wizards of the coast decided on releasing two sets, they would be committing suicide. NOT everybody in this economy has money to just throw away at pieces of cardstock. FLGS's would have to take a hit, because wizards of the coast decided to "experiment" at the expense of others. its not business appropriete, it will not happen.
How would they be committing suicide if they would release two sets? We still do not know if they will be releasing two different sets, have two types of cards which are in different boosters with 'neutral' cards, or are going this two set route at all. I think Wizards would have put a great deal of thought into this (if they end up doing this) and would not rush into this without thinking of it's consequences. They want to give us a fresh twist on Magic and you seem to forget that they have kept this game afloat for a very long time by keeping players entertained with new ways to play the game. And we are not even talking about a permanent change, its just one block. If it isnt well recieved that just means they won't try it again and will put more effort on the later sets to keep players happy. And 'experimenting' has led to great successes like M10 and I'm sure the majority of players were suprised to find 'priceless treasures' in their Zendikar packs.

I think its pretty much been confirmed that the Sword is mythic when they announced FtV:Relics.

By the looks of him, his PW card should be done by Raymond Swanland
As much as I love Swanland, I would prefer someone like Staples. I think his awesome shading and crispness would really do this PW justice.
And I also hope we get a good red PW this time. I think they should make him cost 3, too many 4 mana PWs.
I dont get why Elspeth is wearing the same outfit. I thought when she left Bant in 'Honor Bound" she left all her armor and her sword. I hate when Wizards are inconsistent with their stories. But I'm happy with the new Vulshok planeswalker and that myr artwork.
The Sword of B&M is alright, might be great in this standard.
Something I don't think anyone's mentioned in the thread so far. The Relics text box to the Sword is different to the Relics text boxes of Masticore and Mox Diamond. Check the images at the Gifts Ungiven post: there's a watermark in the Sword's text box!
Wow! Nice catch. Just like the Guild watermarks. I don't know logically why it would have one unless preparing for that speculated faction thing in the next set. But the sword seems neutral to me. Just speculating though, all will be revealed soon.
Are they changing the packaging? Or is an optical illusion because the page is curling down?
Im pretty sure the page is just curling down.
Love the wurm but I don't see anything Phyrexian about it. I also would think that this color scheme would be better for Mirrodin Pure, since I personally do not get a sort of 'dark, foreboding' impression from it. Oh well, now we wait for a better angle on those boosters
I like this Tezzeret and he isn't waving his arms around aimlessly, he's pulling blue mana out of his shoulder in my opinion which I find awesome. On the other hand, Elspeth's fingers protruding from her sword look awkward and that huge cloak is so impractical when she fights. I prefer the old one.
Cant wait to see the rest of the cards.
Which card has ever done this? History tends to repeat itself and no card that was ever reprinted twice has ever gone up in value.
Im not too sure about this but didn't reflection pool go up after its reprint in the Lorwyn Block but that was because it found a place in the format. But I agree, that Baneslayer will settle around 20 and it will not be reprinted in M12.
So how does this affect M12? This stand-alone set sounds like a large set so will it take the place of M12 or go alongside it? I would love it if this is real, returning to Dominaria is always good.
Is there a FtV: Relics Insert? I recall there was one for M10 showing Berserk. Would love to see some new art (if it isnt the new Masticore and Nev's Disk art).
I mean, really this limits his applications. Just cost him at seven or eight colorless mana and you have a kinda balanced PW. Obviously this is really rough, but i just want to point out that we have seen linear planeswalkers before and they are not the top or bottom of the pile, they are just part of the arsenal.
I personally would not mind a 8CC Karn Planeswalker. I think quite a few people would be exited just to get their hands on a planewalker Karn no matter how much he was played competitively. But for those that want a 4CC Karn, maybe he could have one of those 'predicted' static abilities with "you can only use colorless mana to pay this cost" or "you cant use colored mana to pay this" (obviously better worded).
Also cant wait to see if they change Karn visually. I love how they transformed Nicol Bolas and i feel that Karn looks 'clunky'.
The art is for Maritime Guard.

Vanilla creature. Im disappointed as well, hoping for something flashy to fit the art.
Im thinking that Brittle Effigy is something like putting a copy token of a creature in play but with "whenever this becomes the target of a spell or ability, destroy it." Thoughts?
