Well when I play commander it's almost always by just grabbing my cube and pulling out some legend and then throwing a deck together. Not what he's talking about, but still.....
Same here bc I only have one-offs of the newer cards.
re sac:
in my exerience getting rid of a Bob in an aggresive build is never really a problem, since I tend to win with/lose against a truly aggressive deck, when the more controlling player can't get rid of him. worst case, you could throw a spotremoval at him.
Phyrexian Arena sometimes gets Disenchanted by its owner after a long Control-mirror.
There is no true sac-archetye in my cube, but Braids/Smokestack-decks occur often, favorably paired with Squee, Crucible of Worlds or Bloodghast.
re discard:
Discard cards should be good on their own and work in different archetypes (ie: Looters, Masticores, Survival etc.), imho especially in a smaller cube. How many reanimation-spells do you cube with?
Let me be the first to congratulate you on your well-written article.
Your work is appreciated, Usman. Aggro needs support, this is the consensus in this board and it is clearly true. We achieve viable aggro trough:
1. Critical Mass of early drops
2. Disruption
3. Reach
You give the right examples and your reasoning is flawless (imho).
(I'd like to see some headers in your articles, btw. ;-))
2 minor mistakes, that caught my eye.
"Another common mistake in cube design that usually leads to the predominance of midrange and aggro strategies and the failure of aggressive strategies is including too many expensive cards."
control
"The second and most important reason is that organizing your cube by cube by mana costs also helps you easily compare cards with similar casting costs and forcing you to more critically evaluate the worth of cards in your cube."
EDIT: Some Cubes don't include and support aggro. While you state that drafting aggro is fun (which it is) and brings highly welcomed variety, another point is important imo. I'm fairly sure that U-based strategies would be dominant in the Cube if it weren't for aggro. That would be boring as hell.
I am really surprised how high Sphinx of Jwar Isle finished. I didnt have it that high.. I guess everyone else thinks it is fantastic?
guess shroud/flying = win.
Actually the ability to peek at the top card of your library is what makes it so awesome.
I like control.
Karmic Guide and Reveillark are quite new additions to my cube. While they shine in Winstondraft, they've never seen a regular draft in my cube. Next sunday I'll probably rank them higher, idk.

Tom Reeve from "SCG Talent Search" talks about Cube Commander.
Thoughts?
(Me, I don't see great appeal in it)
Thank you very much, eidolon.
