The tripple red CC shouldn't be a problem for the deck, unless possibly you are running Akki Blizzard-Herder and Crack the Earth. Even then, it really shouldn't be a problem. Now, on which one to play, I think Pyroclasm would be the better choice, for a couple reasons. First, its MUCH cheaper than Flamebreak. Second, flying creatures kill us. Hardcore. I personally play 4 clasms main deck and 4 flamebreak sideboard to deal with trolls.
Well i really dont know what to say about the deck in general besides it needs something for card advantage. Other that that the deck runs pretty good, it requiers a little less mana in the fact that it runs the Akki and the Crack to combo. One land for usually two of thiers is a pretty good trade in my opinion. Also, Gods Eye is in there solely to make sacrificing my land at least a little worth it.
I think arena would probably be the better choice for this deck. Im not going block with this, although it looks very much like I am.
Now the thing is with shirei and gohei, the gohei makes the little spirits two power, and cant be reccured. I would either need to run one or the other.
Devouring Greed now that i think about it would be a great card to add. And Swallowing plague was only in there until I got something to replace it with, like a beater of some sort. Or maybe just Devouring Greed. What would I take out though?
I agree with the rest, Kumano is better than Juggernaught by leaps and bounds.
The Akki is purely prefernce, but imagine casting crack with Akki turn two or three. Your opponent is pretty much screwed, as you just keep on killing land. It could be one of the best land destruction the deck has to offer.
Well, a couple days ago I posted a thread asking if anybody thought R/B Spirits was a viable deck. Well, I pretty much made the deck I was thinking of and played it a few times against TNN Bloom. And the thing was, it did pretty well against it. Im not guaranteeing anything, as I havent tested it enough against any other decks, but that is what the thread is for, so I can post results and get ideas and advice. So without further adieu, here is the deck.
Now, mainly it works by triggering the Theif of Hope. Usually it is out on turn three, followed by a barrage of arcane spells (esp. Lava Spike + Glacial Ray), along with the one-drop spirits and Zuberas. If I get out another Theif, the deck just goes crazy, and that pretty much means you win unless your opponent can do something about the theives.
Also, for adding other things to the deck, ive ofund that more or less crack the earth has been useless, so I was thinking about reaplacing it with Spawning Pit. Would Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker be something to consider for this deck, providing the goheis are removed? Does it need card draw? Do you think this deck could be competetive? Fire away.
Ah, but the thing is, Akki Blizzard-Herder is a land destruction spell (or the equivalent of one). Only it has legs, which i cant say is a bad thing because if anything this deck needs better synergy with creatures.
Look guys, youve been trying to use Crack the Earth wrong. Really the best use of it in my eyes is Akki Blizzard-Herder. You do the math. One land for two of thiers is better than one for one (assuming they sack a land). I dont know, but I think thats the way to go for ponza.
I think that the Genju, Crack the Earth, and Sowing Salt are gonna be new addittions to the deck, as they all seem promising. Especially Sowing salt in the side against TnN. We finally win!
