As a linux user, I'm in complete agreement with the sentiments of the mac users earlier on in this thread. I really don't see why I sholuld have to go out and buy a copy of windows in order to pay magic online.

    So Boo Hiss to WOTC.

What percentage of MTGO players are on Mac or Linux? Probably not enough to warrant the cost of porting the game to another platform. I'm sure it's just a business decision.

Besides, anyone willing to spend hours screwing around with Linux to get it to do the most basic tasks, is probably willing to futz around with inferior, freebie software (I have never been able to understand how MWS or Apprecntice work...can't someone other than Wizards make a game that knows its own rules?) and/or card shuffling. While saying good game is certainly good practice, a practice most should get aquainted with, If a game wasn't good (there was no interaction between the two players, due to whatever: mana screw, mulligans, mana flood), why say it was?

I disagree totally. Regardless of the circumstances, you say "good game," just like you did in Little League, no matter how badly you lost or how big you won.

"Good game" does not literally mean, "You played an impeccably good game, on par with Kai or Finkel." It really means, "Thanks for the opportunity to play, and best of luck in the future." If anyone thinks that basic courtesy like this is insulting or disingenuous, I think they lack the basics of human interaction. Do you also get mad when someone asks "How are you?" and you're not feeling well?

I like the new color scheme and banner. Tweak the layout just a bit, and you've got a real winner.

Happy Birthday, Salvation! Keep up the great work!

Serra Avenger is not a "dead card" any more than having *** in your opening hand is "dead." If you're really that terrified of having a card you can't play on turn two, only run two or three of 'em. You reduce the chance of having one in your opening 7, but still stand a good chance of drawing one. Happy now? I swear, never so much whining about a 3/3 flier.

I also think Jaya is better suited to a medium-red deck. Remember Arc Slogger? I mean, who would ditch 10 cards for a freakin' Shock? Oh yeah...everybody. And you can do three for 1R and a card? That'll work. And complaining about no pro-red is like complaining that white decks run both Wrath and creatures...OMGOMG, so unsynergystic!!!!

    *sigh*

That's not just foolish, that's downright delusional.

    Ever hear the term "astroturfing?"
    http://www.retrologic.com/jargon/A/astroturfing.html
Seems to be a long-standing tradition in Washington State Wink

I don't think the people in question are astroturfing, nor do I think they're shills for Hasbro. I just think you're being a bit hasty in your snippy retorts (you do seem to have a talent for phrasing things in just such a way as to bring across the worst possible impression...you sure you're not American?).

What you claim to be delusional thinking is not at all uncommon in the corporate world. Fact is, big companies hire folks to simply scour the 'net all day long, looking for negative publicity, drumming up support, and even *gasp* seeking out copyright infringement.

I wonder how many of the pro-Wizards folk are astroturfing? Hmmm, counselor?

Chris Romero (who is, in fact, a lawyer)had an excellent point today on SCG. To summarize: "We've always done this, you've never complained before, thus it must be OK. You've let it go on this long, so you've essentially waived your rights."

Why is everyone so eager to heap more rights on corporations, and take them away from the consumers? I'm betting that if Hasbro were to start lacing each card with contact poison, these boards would be full of posts like "Hasbro is a big company with more money than you! Thus, they are always right, legally and ethically. How dare you complain?"

I'm also quite curious about this anti-spoiler noise. Why are those people even on this site, then? Let's be honest...MTGS is a spoiler site. Everything else is just an add-on. Heck, I've even read posts saying that no one should ever be allowed to see spoilers, just because the poster can't be bothered to put forth the effort to win a game. Well, that's not our fault.

Wizards' IP rights may or may not have been violated, but they have managed to approach this in the worst possible way...just like most every major move they make.

So who's up for VS System?

This just makes me all the more glad I only read the Rumor Mill.
I'm getting waaaaaay too old for all this personal drama, especially from a website that's about a card game.

I remember the News debacle, and from what I've read here, this is nothing whatsoever like that. As far as I can tell, someone got their feelings hurt, someone (or someone else) stepped out of line, and a whole buncha folks can't keep their personal and professional lives separate.

Best wishes to all, but please try to remember that this is just a website. For a game.

I've always held out hope that they would release a world championship decks version of whole sets or maybe famous decks throughout MTG history.

I've been begging for this same thing for a while! Every time MaRo showed up in the Invitational Chats, I rode that particular hobby horse for all it was worth. Let's hope...

I'm not sold on Elvish Pioneer, since it just left the environment (via Onslaught & 8E), and I don't think people are clamoring for its return, unlike BoP.

EoDS makes sense to me, considering the whole guild thing.

One question, though: would Exploration be totally broken in the current T2? It seems pretty strong, but is it too strong?
