The Neurok Stealthsuits, I would probably trade for whispersilk cloaks given the chance, although the attach ability can be funny, making opponents spells fizzle for 2 mana. The scourglass, you can probably see it for what its worth in an almost all artifact deck. Storage Matrix, believe it or not, I adore even more then the darksteel forge, because it shuts down certain aspects of everyone with the exception of my own deck considering almost all my permanents are artifacts, that inlcuding my lands. The Mind's Eye, although helpful for a deck that can easily go hellbent, I don't see myself using too often so I could see myself taking that out. As for the diviners Wand, it is extremely helpful since it can grant flying as well as being a draw engine. Platinum Angel, I can see that I don't entirely need, although it is funny to equip her with whispersilk cloak while I have darksteel forge out, odds of that happening are low. Lastly is the Open the Vaults. Although its harder for me to pull this out since it has no affinity to it, it can easily be a game turner if I do manage to get the mana.
Ever thought of putting Jhessian Balmgiver in there? Giving exalted creatures unblockable can REALLY slaughter someone given you have enough exalts out there.
The few changes I personally would try and complete would be to get rid of the vedalken Engineer for one more Etherium Sculptor and then instead of 4 tree of tales, have 4 Vault of Whispers. Also, I am often thinking that although this is an affinity myr deck, that it is lacking enough lands at times, but if that is the case, I would not know what cards to pull out to add them in.
As for the nuisance Engine, I can understand why people would question it. However, although odds of me drawing the nuisance Engine are low, it can lead up to one of the infinite combos in the deck. Nuisance Engine Dross Scorpion Krark-Clan Ironworks
From there, it can either be used in conjunction with Disciple of the Vault or with Arcbound Crusher. Also, with the infinite it can be used with Sadistic Glee. If I am not going infinite with it however, it can be used as a temporary mana holder so to speak. I pump them out each turn, and when I manage to grab one of the Krark-Clan Ironworks, I can sacrifice multiple of the pests to give enough colorless mana for just about anything in the deck, let alone the effects of dross scorpion that can help even without the Krark-Clan Ironworks to untap artifact lands or untap Nuisance Engine again.
As far as cathodion, I was debating between him and the Myr Moonvessel, and considering that none of my guys to start with are that strong at first with the exception of pentavus, they were the choice.
Well, I have had this deck for awhile, and slowly but steadily improving it overtime. the idea of this deck is to kill off my own creatures, and gain the benifits from their demise.
As you may have noticed, this deck is centered around sacrificing, moving +1/+1 counters around, and then bringing those cards back to be played again. With Dross scorpion, it allows the ability to sacrifice and bring that creature back using skeleton shard multiple times. Also as you may have noticed, there are tons of opportunities for infinite loops with this deck, most of which involve the Krark-Clan Ironworks. As a last note as far as the strategy of this deck goes, if I am unable to beat my opponent through use of brute force, I use the recursion effects of the skeleton shard and sacrificing with the disciple of the vault to enable loss of life.
From what I can tell on my own, I would probably want to get 1 more Myr retriever and take out 1 of the Arcbound Hybrids. Any suggestions?
I've been playing MTG for about a year or so now and thoroughly enjoying it. My personal favorite blocks are the Mirrodin Block and Alara Block. On the side I like making custom cards, although I do not have that great of art skill so most of the time I will barrow images from other sources. Regardless, I believe I have come up with some nice ideas and would be more then willing to share them. So far I've made 2 custom sets. Hope to bring inspiration and get great input on decks I make as well as input on customs I create.
