Look I am sure that Phyrexia was a creation of Yawgamoth, I'm not stupid. In fact I have read the Thran and I know about the legends and I know about Urza creating Karn to stop the Pherexians. YES I KNOW! but here is why i wrote this, This is time spiral a place where things don't always go acording to the written magic history, I.e Jee isn't Mirri the one inflicted with selina's curse now and crovax,who as i recall was the Evencare of Phyrexia during invasion, not evil. So jee that throws a wrench in history does that meen Volrath was leading the charge not crovax? So I am just saying this block is SAPOSE to get you to think outside the box. Maybe they should have renamed the set The What if? cycle. Oh yea and one more thing, in this story Phyrexia isn't as it use to be. Thats right there are Phyrexian's comming through the rifts and, guess what they are more advanced and are built for cold weather. As described by Teferi "They did not look the same as the Phyrexians did during the invasion. These where sleeker smater creations who seemed to thrive in this cold snap" Yes i caught that too it is a reference to the ice age set cold snap, and Urbog is freezing over and skyshourd is too. So there i am not saying that This thread is totaly bogus, i am saying that it seems people have been getting off base, so think OUTSIDE the box. Magic's history already has changed ladies and gentelman so what makes this thought so crazy?
Ok so if you want quotes from the book that i feel backs up my opinion i will put them up. One last thing i noticed was a trend with the covers too. In Time spiral the main charecter was Radha and the Planeswalker who saved the day was Teferi. They are both on the cover. In Planar Chaos Vensar is the main charecter and Karn is the Planeswalker who we don't know if he saved the day or damned the world yet. But they are both on the cover. Looking at pictures from Future sights cover I assume that Jhoria is the main charecter and Jeska will be the planeswalker that eather saves or destroyes dominaria. They are both on the cover. And I find it kinda fitting that Jeska was the person who origanily sucked all the magic out of Dominaria as Korona and now she is the only one who can save it, well we don't know that yet but its another solid guess. Look i am not saying this is for sure but because of the statement about "alternent realities" i say why not. If magneto can found the x-men then why can't Karn found Phyrexia.
Ya i thought the same thing after i wrote it but Nicol Bolas Is in the first book and not in the second book so you could be right. My other far fetched thought was that Karn is a planeswalker so he can change his apearence. I don't know do you think I am way off base or is this something legit to rumor about?
P.s I was thinking on the same grounds as lenster pointed out. Kinda like the marvel universe sorta thing where in going back in time to fix something they cause a new problem for the future.
So this is just a thought I had after i finished reading the new book. So if you don't want the book to be spoiled don't read any more...
Ok So this is my thought, if you look at the cover of the book you see that Karn's face is split down the middle. One half is the normal Karn and the other is in a frown or yelling pose. Now focuse on the frowny side. Notice that it is very similar to the expression on the maked used as the Apocalypse expansion symbol, or Yawgmoth's symbol. So that was my clue to kinda look into this and here is what i found.
1. Phyrexia is a solid metal plane, so is Mirrodin.
2. In the story of Mirrodin a black oily substence is there and it corupts what it touches. We never really figure out what it is. Phyrexia is coverd in a very simmilar oily substance, referd to as the blood of Phyrexia.
3. My last finding is kind of a stretch but hear me out....In the end of Planar Chaos Kran traveld back in time to try and seal the rift at Tolaria. He is then overcome by a corrupting presense and warns Vensar to tell anyone who ever comes in contact with him to not trust him and leave. There was a hint in the beganing that something still wasn't right on Mirrodin. So maybe what corupted him made him go turn mirrodin into Phyrexia? Its just a thought let me know what you guys and gals think.
I was wondering if i was correct in assuming that You could get pentavus huge if you had shirei, shizo's caretaker out? Play shirei play pentavus pay 4 make 4 pentavite's pay 4 sac them and then at the end of turn have 4 pentavite's back in play while Pentavus is a 5/5? Kinda confusing sorry can someone clarify?
This is shapping up to be one amazing core set (if these turn out to be real) But think about it With all the artifact destruction from mirrodin block is dimond mox really that unbelivable? With new art on some cards and the fact we have plausable visibal evidence i would say this is 85% real. And if its a fake this guy deserves some sort of an award!
1. Lets say you use mark of the oni to gain control of an oponents demon would you not have to return it because at the end of turn you technicaly control a demon?
2. Can you use Toshi's ability and pay a splice into arcane ability if you wanted?
10. Kira, Great Glass-Spinner: Counter spells targeting your creatures! Helped me a lot in pre-ralese.
9. Patron of the Moon: Really makes the Moonfolk decks a lot better.
8. Bile Urchin: Had four out at pre-ralese with Shirei, wow that was fun.
7. Toshiro Umezawa: Yawg's will on a stick! and cheep ta-boot!

5. Ishi-Ishi: Easily 2 damage a turn! whats not to like?
4. Hero's Demise: Combos great with Toshi
3. Goryo's Vengence: A spliceble Shallow Grave!
2. Yukora, the Prisoner: Juzman dijin reprint! Whats not to like!
1. Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker: This card is amazing there are somany things to combo with it! My favorite so far is in my Scion of darkness Deck!! Rotlung Reanimator+Dark Suplicant+Shirei= FUN!!
Absolute BOMB Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker and Bile Urchin helped me win, oh every time in my three wins at prerelease! I See so many options with this card! So far my favorite and pradiction for one of the chase rares!

I would like to see more demons and i think that color switching flip cards might make an apearence!
