I really like the idea of this duel deck as a way to bring back to life some of the older cards in magic. However, mono-black is currently overpowered due to vamires and Alara sent three and five color decks on a rampage:facepalm: so this isn't really needed.
Just a thought, but what if the phrexians and the Weatherlight turned up in worldwake? I could imagine the Weatherlight giving the five color allies some real power and the phyrexians trying to use their artifacts to reach the power of Zendikar, succeeding eventually, awakening the world, then getting stopped by the Weatherlight, the allies, and possibly, the Eldrazi.
I never really kept up with the story line in Magic, but I think phyrexia+vampire=SPAM:D
