The Hangarback is insane, too. I don't remember how much it costs, but it's an 8/8 that gives you a 1/1 flying thopter whenever you pop 3+ gems, AND when it dies you get 8 thopters. Insane.
I would take Akroma, Angel of Fury over Sagu Mauler every time because Akroma pimp walks right through white and blue fliers, notably Restoration Angel, Vendilion Clique and spirit tokens. Hexproof looks nice, but Akroma can already survive Bolt and Dismember and dodge Path and Cryptic-bounce, so I don't see exactly what edge Sagu Mauler could have over Akroma. Maelstrom Pulse, maybe?
Also Slaughter Pact, plus Sagu Mauler has the benefit that I can actually hardcast it if need be. I should have mentioned that my meta is a lot of Jund, Affinity, Tron, Bogles and not much of anything that runs the sort of fliers that Akroma ignores. I get the point though; it's something that I hadn't considered before.
So, I had a question. I'm running the below list, and I'm pretty happy with it. I find it to be a very fun and powerful deck, not least because of how flexible it is. I know the singleton Akroma is probably not an optimal thing to have, but it's just so much fun to do game 1 that I can't bring myself to remove it. That being said, is the consensus that Sagu Mauler is just better in that slot?
I have a few basic lands from M13 where the border and text appear as if the printer was running low on black, appearing light and almost grey, with the rest of the card printed normally. Would these be worth anything, or no?
Just as a data point, I recently ordered a box of Russian 9th as well, and the shrinkwrap on mine is much thicker than on English boxes, has a seam where a bottom panel without the Wizards logo seems to meet the upper portion of shrinkwrap which does have the Wizards logo, and there are two large holes on each small end of the box where there is no shrinkwrap.
I have a foil Arcane Teachings from Judgment where the arrow in the tap symbol is shifted about half-way down in the circle. This is basically worthless, right?
Yes, but we haven't been able to observe the decline over that period. We are making conjectures based on similarities and observable properties. (Most science involves this to an extent.)
In addition to what Glitch said, it's irrelevant that we haven't directly observed the process for thousands of years. We have no reason to believe that radioactive decay simply stops at a given point, which seems to be what you are implying, unless I'm misinterpreting you.

Pile A:
1 Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
1 Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
1 Thrun, the Last Troll, foil.
or
Pile B:
1 Force of Will
Pile A is all near mint. The Force is very close to near mint, with just a tiny bit of white in the upper right front corner.
