Like maybe battles have their own health (similar to planeswalker loyalty) and that any player can attack it and block incoming attacks against it. The player who deals the last points of damage to it "wins" the battle, then it will flip and they'll get the reward. Just a theory. Maybe this isn't the right place to post this, but it does play into the idea that everyone wants to attack this and get involved in the battle. -

Traditional Foil Borderless Mythic Planeswalker in <1% of boosters. Traditional Foil of any rarity replaces a Common in 33% of boosters.
I recently had the thought that the artworks we got of MoM have an awful lot of legendaries on them and for some of them I honestly don't really see new versions coming just for MoM, like Keiga and Ghalta. Especially since many, like the students, Ghalta and Keiga are parts of cycles, which would eat up a ton of space if they all got new cards.
So I was thinking, what if MoM has a special sheet like a timeshifted sheet that is composed entirely of legendary creatures from Magic's pseudo "recent" history (like OG Ravnica and up?), probably excluding problematic cards or those that are difficult to print without additional support, like the DFC deans and Ulric.
This would fit into what I quoted as there are quite a few uncommon legendaries, so there is not a guaranteed rare in each booster, but it would happen frequent enough to explicitly state it here. -

Between his insufferable public persona and the endless parade of gimmicks, MaRo has had a net negative effect on this game.
And to anyone saying this is good or you can opt in or whatever:
I opened 4 boxes of unstable and was unable to complete the set. The rare variants with the same name and the mythic distribution made it very difficult to open all the cards. That kind of exclusivity is relatively harmless in a supplemental joke set. Thrones of Eldaine is not a supplemental joke set. This announcement is just another step towards a frighteningly greedy business model. For them to phrase it as "options" is pouring salt in the messy wound that is secondary market prices, investors being taken more seriously than players, the selective scarcity of in-demand cards, and the nightmare that is the reserve list.
Obviously profit is an inextricable part of WotC's business model. Are they hurting for profits? Do we know exactly where they lie on the spectrum here? Have they given the players any clear info on the secondary market (not just a statement, a proper analysis)? Do they share data on why cards are banned? On which cards they reprint based on demand (again, not anecdotes, data)? As far as I know, they do not. The changes just announced are so poorly justified and exacerbate the problem.
Yes, if you're an adult with a stable income or remotely aware of online sellers, then this won't affect you in the short term. I obviously love this game or I wouldn't still be playing it after 10+ years. I mainly draft and this doesn't affect me at all, mechanically. The game is not the problem. The business aspect undoubtedly is.
Ask yourself why a company would implement these changes before you buy another Magic: The Gathering sealed product.

very much so actually. Longer life for cards for standard players? Much deeper deck variety? And standard is already pretty diverse... and it would solve some Arena problems as well after rotation. Great idea IMO.

There's a pretty glaring différance here, let's be honest.
She has a neat character design and her ongoing plot so far at least lends itself to maybe developing flaws and hangups. This is a big step compared to previous characters, who conform to archetypes and don't really have personalities at all. Ixalan stories were better than the norm for the same reason. That's all we can really hope for, regardless of the character's color, mana or otherwise.

No objections to HoB being in here either. That card belongs in my knight edh but I didn't want to pay a standard price for it. Hopefully it drops into the $5 range so I can finally get a copy.
