Fingers crossed that the Time Vault reprint signals the power 9, and by extension, vintage on mtgo. Awesome stuff.
Will vault be a money card? It doesn't have the utility of Force of Will or a dual land, but it does auto-win games. I'm wondering will this be a huge card like force, or a cheaper card like Bazaar of Baghdad. It probably depends on if vintage becomes a reality online.
Main thing holding Time Vault down will be that it's not a 4x in decks that use it. My guess is that Mishra's Workshop (not revealed yet, but can't not be present) might possibly end up being the most expensive card in MED4 as it's a critical leg of the Vintage metagame and needs to be 4x in the deck. Maybe Black Lotus (if present) will be, but demand would have to at least four times greater for that to happen, certainly possible, maybe probable, but not absolute.
Lets get back on topic.
This topic is about the rules concerning splitting prizes between players.
This has NOTHING to do with intentional draws, especially ones to get into Top 8s.
Actually we don't know what the update to the Organized Play policy is. The MTGO discussion was about prize splits, but the change to paper play could be anything. The MtGO team just said they were waiting to know the final contents of the paper policy before making final decisions regarding MtGO-specific rules.
I liked this as well. For nondescript cards it should remain "it" but for Planeswalkers it should be gender specific. After all it's not like I walk up to Vess and scream "IT'S A MAN!"
Aaron stated this on Monday that Planeswalkers (only) will have gender-specific pronouns from now on.
Gouging is a term used when a seller spikes the price up and boyond it's reasonable price on a product that is limited in supply. *similar to the gas stations that were selling 12 bucks a gallon of gas two years ago*
Yeah, those tons of people who starve or are unable to drive to work because FtV products are expensive are... yeah...:rolleyes2:
So if you play a fetch then crack it do you get to draw 6 cards with Mysteries Of The Deep? Cause if you do then this could actually be a fairly good card.
Obviously it doesn't work like that, not possible to even think about reading the text that way. But 5cc instant speed draw 3 will be extremely playable in standard.
I find great irony in you comment that you can play it any time. I've spent quite a few dollars in MTGO and I find that almost EVERY time I sit down with free time on my hands to play around on it - it's down or the kinds of games I want to play are down or removed from the tool. Meh.
100% fact that I've played more MtGO games with my cards than you have with your paper cards.
Don't count on MTGO staying around forever. Just because it's poular today doesn't mean fans won't move on to something else or some fans (like myself) will get fed up with it and quit pumping money into it.
As he stated, the existence of Magic guarantees the existence of Magic Online. In fact there is a zero percent chance of a future in which paper Magic exists, but online does not, but a non-zero chance of a future in which online Magic exists, but paper does not.
Also, just because Wizards goes out of business doesn't mean MTG paper cards will be worthless - in fact, it's likely the value would go up.
This utterly flawed line of logic always brings a smile. The only possible cards that would have any value would be Power 9, something like Baneslayer Angel would have a value of zero in the event of Magic being turned off.
Yeah, your saying that WotC is making the game less tactical. But really they are removing some tactics while adding others.
Claming Magic is any less complex now than immediately after 6th edition is a lie. Even if you just look at standard, the game has way more tactics now then it did in Urza's or even Mercadia block.
Of course, people love feeling superior to others by going "When I played magic, things were better."
6Ed stack rules: some cards worse, many cards better.
M10 combat rules: many many many many cards worse, very few cards better
This is the first time that I can remember WotC having such tight control over the spoilers - should be an interesting experiment to see whether it helps or hurts sales.
If you think there haven't been seasons like this one, you haven't been exposed to very many set releases.
Welcome to five years ago. (Or is it even more than that now?)

Same thing that happens to any other creature. If you creaturize him, he also dies to destroy effects, just not direct damage.

If you force your opponent to kill it, you have played a 4cc dragon with no drawback.

Try again, bub.
You are aware that they can't do that, correct?
Not they won't, but that they can't.
