Feb 4, 2014Hackworth posted a message on Launch Giveaway!Wee Dragonauts has been one of my favorite cards since I started playing with a pile of my friend's random Ravnica block cards. It's far from the most powerful creature, but the way it can be used as defensive tech with counterspells or as a giant swingy attack with a handful of Lightning Bolts makes it my favorite Izzet-colour creature for casual modern, and therefore my favorite card.Posted in: Announcements

a) arguably the most successful pirate in history was a Chinese lady, so the idea of lady pirates isn't even that weird in real life.
b) The Brazen Coalition was repeatedly described as an entire floating nation.
From what I remember, the main issue with triumph of Ferocity is that it looks like actual domestic violence rather than the magical fantasy combat that normally shows up on Magic Cards, and also people who didn't know Magic's story didn't know how terrible a person Liliana is.
I've heard no-one complaining about Bedevil or Lava Coil, despite murder by imps and immolation being worse fates than getting punched in the face, and that's probably because the context is different.
As far as Enthralling Victor goes, I think they got away with it simply because shirtlessness is generally less sexualized for men than women, and there's less weird social background radiation regarding men's behaviour and appearances in general because the society we live in is still pretty biased in favour of men. Also the blushing goblin is objectively hilarious.
This card is near exactly what killed the original version of Landfall: less-skilled players were skipping their land drops to get a more powerful early game, then losing because they had almost no land on the board.
Played correctly, this could be a good card. Expect it not to be played correctly.
Reap, your cards are pretty consistently interesting ideas, but they almost never follow the standards of Magic design, which are based around the balance of strengths between each colour and the limiting effect of land cards, particularly on multicolour decks.
I think you'd be happier making your own game rather than limiting yourself within the conditions of Magic.
The Masters series always seems like it's eating it's own lunch, because they're always a potentially exciting reprint set hamstrung by high price and low printings.
