Now, 51 new cards for just multiplayer, meaning, they are not remotely playable or desirable in any competitive format (sans reanimate tricks etc.). And they definately won't "waste" 10 spots for lands (there are already a lot of possibilities for fixing mana in a casual environment). They could do, say, a 1 land, that taps for every color, but let's every other player search their deck for 1 land and put it to the battlefield, or somesuch..
I swear, some people will jump to any chance they get to dream for a chance to get old ABUR duals reprinted..
why shouldn't it be a dream?
they are the best there is... who wouldn't want to play with them... they aren't uber ultra powerful but help a deck run smoothly. If they were over powered, you couldn't run playsets in legacy, right?
I know they are the best lands made, but why not let us have some inexpensive option for a Commander only dual land? There is a reason 3 color decks are rare in most formats. Because reliable mana fixing is either too expensive or too slow.
It'd be nice to have a staple that belongs to EDH only.
What we really need to know is how many rares there will be. My guess is 8 or 9 not including the new Commanders at mythic.
My guess is that we are looking at 18-20 rares...
compare the price point of duel decks... $20 for 12 rares... these are $35 (perhaps $30 since prices seem to be a bit up in the air), so I think 18-20 sounds about right...
Actually, they could make a set of lands like this
Inferior Taiga
Land - Forest Mountain
Inferior Taiga enters the battlefield tapped.
You can search these out, they play well with the bad fetches and panoramas and are good for EDH in that even a deck running Duals and Shocks can afford to run these as well.
if you just say that comes into play tapped unless Commander on table, then it's even better and there will be no legacy vintage craze for them...
As I'm new to the format and don't play Legacy, I would hope it's an EDH land pack that has duals that expressly say not for sanctioned DCI events. That way you could play duals in EDH.
On your list, Koth doesn't appear to have budged in weeks.
Does that mean you haven't lowered your price, since he's still selling really well for you?
That means it's the highest priced card in the set based on his sales price
Having bought 2 copies of this deck, I am still missing 2 chain lightnings to get a full playset of them for my ultimate burn deck. Do you think I will find someone to trade me 2 copies of chain lightning for a playset of foil bolts (since I have 8 in total)?
Zendikar or m11 I would probaly go for m11 just because i made neraly a hundred bucks off my m11
that was a lucky box then...
M11 was my last box... I give up on them... I think I got about $40 worth of cards in mine... No titans, crap mythics... It's just not worth buying sealed product imho...
Zendikar was the last box I even came close to $100 worth of cards...
Wow, this is pretty sad. I haven't seen people say such bad things about a new standalone in yearrrsss. I don't even think Champions or Mercadian Masques got as much hate as Scars is receiving right now. Ok, perhaps Rise, but even that was slightly more positive than Scars.
I do believe the curling is often related to moisture. I find if you gently curl the sides of the card towards the back, and then use a hot hair-dryer on the card as you flatten it back out, it will take out some of the obvious curl. Seems like my foils from Lorwyn block are the worst. Zendikar foils all lay flat for me. If you take the foil directly from the pack, and put a perfect-size sleeve on it from the top, and a regular sleeve from the bottom over that, it creates a solid guard against moisture and can keep your foils flat.
probably has to do with the uber-humidity in Houston... lol
not much you can do about it... Slivers foils seem to be the worst for me... the other card that was bad was the promo sprouting thrinax. Most of the others have been fine.
They bend way freaking less. I bought the sliver deck and if they do this series in a similar fashion then you're good to go.
I disagree... my sliver deck has a permanent bend... even sleeved, it's very obvious which cards are from the sliver deck... maybe I need to throw a brick on the stack for a month and see if that helps... lol
I am aware of that, but my comment isn't exactly aimed at these packs, but for casual formats in general.
At least they could throw in shock lands, therefore not depleting the new card slot...
Unfortunately, these will probably be fun and all, most likely a decent deal, but not a resource for a nice EDH deck.
Still nice to dream...

They would need to be fetchable and only come in to play untapped if a Commander is on the table.
That would make them every bit as good as original duals in Commander, but not make the product a must have for all legacy players.
It makes them pretty much only playable for Commander or in a pinch as a very poor substitute for reasonably priced shock lands.
I don't see how this wouldn't be the best scenario.
A guy can dream, right?
That means it's the highest priced card in the set based on his sales price
probably not...
yes... but strict MSRP... even the leftover sliver decks are still at $35...

Zendikar will probably net the best resale due to fetchlands...
Eldrazi Monument is on the rise and Lotus Cobra is no slouch...
SoM values are dropping fast... M11 values have already tanked...
don't buy booster boxes from that store... lol
I remember Masques getting decent praise...
Bribery, Cave In, Charisma, Cho-Manno, Collective Unconscious, Conspiracy, Dust bowl, Food Chain, Gush, Misdirection, Nether Spirit, Rishadan Port, Squee, Story Circle, Tectonic Break, Thrashing Wumpus, Two-Headed Dragon, Unmask, Vine Dryad
All big time cards... and a fun set to play...
We never had any people complaining...
