How you gonna print Dreadhorde after it's banned in the only format it was really good... lol
I'm still salty they banned him. Was my favorite tech I thought of in my Death's Shadow deck in Legacy. Sadly that deck was unplayable with Oko, and now without Dreadhorde it's still not good.
Of course Damnation shouldn't be mythic. That's not what mythics look like. In fact, they shouldn't even use mythic rarity in the set. There's no use for it. It serves zero purpose, and forces a later idea in where it doesn't belong. Of course I'd be happier if mythic rare never existed. But it certainly shouldn't exist here.
Regardless, I don't actually care if it's mythic. So long as the price starts to trend downwards.
I disagree with you, but thank you for thinking your complaint all the way through. There is no better candidate for a mythic upgrade than Damnation (except Tarmogoyf), so the only realistic options are Damnation at mythic or no mythics at all. I'm not sure how the printing math would all work out, but I'm sure we agree that Crovax at mythic is just dumb.
When has Damnation or Wrath been printed at Mythic?
The only answer is Wrath in FTV, but all cards in FTV are marked as mythic. There is no reason to bump it here except money grab. Pick another card and put it in the mythic slot, easy as that.
I'm a bit puzzled that people are complaining about Damnation at mythic. To me, I'd say it's the most mythic-worthy card after Tarmogoyf. After all, this set was not designed with mythic rarity in mind, and placing something like Crovax at mythic is a feel-bad joke.
I for one will be happy to crack a Damnation.
It's never been a mythic, even in sets with Mythic. Wrath or other board wipes are never mytic. Another WOTC joke of a cash grab.
The lands would be fine at $5 for non-foil or $10 for foil I think. Charging 6 times that much is why I don't buy any product that helps Wizards bottom line at this point. I only buy singles. These greedy fools need to be put in check.
I'm fine with the $30, but they definitely have to come more than just one of each. I agree with what they have right here $30 is too much.
At $30, I'd want at least 6 of the non-foils of each. This puts them at $1 a land. Still more than they should be, but tolerable since they are "special".
Valentine's Day is definitely the worst, though I do like the Swiftspear.
Faeries I actually like the art, but not for $40.
Giants are what I expected from metal stuff, though the B/R one definitely looks better overall. Uro just looks like a random titan.
Lands are lands, they look nice, but definitely not $30/$40 nice.
I have to ask why WotC refuses to price some of these at $20. Many SLs I would have bought at $20, but at $30, $40, even $400? Absolutely not.

Bravo Wizards! Bending people over. In almost every instance they are charging more than secondary. And $8 for a foil land and $6 for a nonfoil land?! Just silly...
I know these aren't for everyone, but that kind of retail price for a foil land (or any of these cards really) that are print to demand is just a slap in the face.
On the one hand, I like mechanics (like morph) that let you pay in "installments" for a slightly higher overall cost, in exchange for being able to cast it with fewer lands up. I'm a tempo player to the bone, and these mechanics open up additional possibilities for the kinds of decks I like to play. A plus.
On the other hand, compared to suspend, foretell is really lacking in drama. Exiling it face down is very blah, a real tension-killer. I would much rather have the mechanic exile the card face up, maybe in exchange for an overall lower cost. The most fun thing about suspend was always watching your opponent sweat as the time counters ticked down, trying to figure out a way to deal with your oncoming spell. Compared to that, this gets a big minus.
I don't think it's going to be a bad mechanic, but I also don't think it's going to blow the roof off of anything. The long-awaited "fixed suspend" mechanic it is not. The next devotion-level remake success it is not.
The difference is a player knows what to expect with suspend. They need to know if they need to keep mana open to counter said spell. In this case, you keep them guessing. I kind of like that.
Part of me says Foretell is good because you can avoid hand destruction if its prevalent or a key card, part of me says its bad because you're taking two turns and overall spending more mana to cast the card. I want to see the set rules to see if it has to be cast on a later turn.

I wish they'd finally ban Oko in Legacy. The fact they haven't and are considering banning Uro... shows they have no idea of what they are doing.

Turn 3 even

Turn 1 dork, turn 2 foretell, turn 3 6/5... sounds decent
