But MoM does win on the spot - provided you have Azami out and 3+ cards in hand. Of course that can be hard to set up - but beyond that tapping out attackers is still powerful.
Personally I prefer it to time stretch - that's so expensive it's dead fairly often (same with beacon, but it's perks include shuffling into the deck which IMO is huge), and unlike beacon stretch can't win via mystical tutor/scepter. (plus its anti selfmill LOL)
And beyond that - time stretch etc don't win the game with no board position.
You've said it before, but I forgot, what decks are in your meta? Could you get lists for some of them?
To me it sounds like you've got less Lyzolda, Radha, Edric, Gaddock Teeg, etc aggro types and more midrange decks ala sisay, teferi, vig etc - against these fast generals, time stretch is too late or you'll have no board position when casting it and it'll barely get you back into the game.
Against a midrange meta though it's absolutely devastating, so yeah I think it is just majorly a meta call.

As another side note, I made azusa into a stax deck and LOL it stomped azami.
Turn 1 I played that "all permanents enter play tapped" green card (tangleroot or something) and followed with winter orb/ land destruction. So annoying, azami never got past 1 mana up at a time.

Not going to comment on the decklist new guy, sorry Frown
Farchyld summed up my thoughts tho.
    @ sess.
    Prejudice is something I've tested.
    The problem is 4cmc.
Also, most decks in french are aggro.
Their creatures cost max 3, so they go "lol I pay 2 extra to make this resolve" or B by the time it comes down, they've got 5 dudes on the field (thus the slot is better used on mass bounce, etc - stuff to slow them down. What would be really nice is a wizard with reusable fog effect, if only!)

I'm going to remain stoic on seat of the synod till it at least gets put in the primer somewhere as "good cards for the deck (based on preference)".
Actually, there should be a section like that, many primers have 'em.
With stuff like seat, etc that you disagree with but have enough support from others/you can see why they are good but just don't like them.
New guys looking at the first post only deserve to know why seat is good, and also why you choose not to run it, so they can make their own decision.
That said, testing Familiar's Ruse to see how good/bad it can be.
I'm using more ETB wizards (proxied snapcaster too) so it could have a nice payoff.

    welp, I tried again.
The past 4 cards I wanted to purchase, my orders got cancelled with "oh sorry we don't have that afterall lolol" so hopefully not this time.
I ordered of spoils of the vault and plunge into darkness. (and in both near mint and lightly played conditions to boot so 2x the chance they don't say "lol we have none")
The sad part is, stuff I say I'll sell I never do, I have a whole pile of "wise investments" that I pick up and keep (like wasteland, ravnica duals, etc) that I end up using in decks.
Since I'm actually going to play modern, odds are I'll have several combo decks and run 4 of each in many of them :/
Assuming for the 5th time I don't get a "your order was cancelled" message, but I've used this store before and like them, so fingers crossed.
    I hate myself...
A question to pro speculators, how many do you get?
Is like 20 enough? Or should I be going for like 100 of each? What do you see the ceiling on these 2 (spoils + plunge) being? (this isn't so important to me actually, more curious on how many of cards you order when you speculate? Is it just like 2 playsets, 20 or like hundreds?)

Yeah, basically it's the fact that it relies on too many variables - firstly tracer and mage are both kind of subpar for their cost - mage costs too much to level up, tracer needs too many wizards on the field to be reliable.
Secondly, that's the only real use for reality spasm.
We have another draw out and win card, ,mind over matter and what it comes down to is without echo mage (leveled up too) or sigil tracer with the extra wizards its a dead draw.
Compared to our other infinites like the previously mentioned Mind over matter which is useful with most cards in the deck (the fact that it's an enchant, can work with azami and jace's archivist without echo mage, tracer) or like power artifact which makes rings of brighthearth, the monoliths, and whatever other artifacts we may be using have cheaper costs - it doesn't hold its own weight.

As a note, sigil tracer isn't too bad. I've gotten it off a few times recently.
But a card that requires it on the field... it's just too unreliable.
(also keeping 2 other wizards out at once in french can be surprisingly difficult. You need to make sacrifices since it comes down to "do I sac martyr of frost to counter that or let him blow up my grim monolith which could make infinite mana if I draw a tutor/get lucky?" or "do I use my counterspell on that pyroclasm when I only have sage of epityr and sower of temptation capturing their radha" (i'd let them die, save the counterspell for something more deadly, like their land destruction)
Against aggressive decks it's really hard to get sigil tracer active, and echo mage requires too much mana sink before he activates to be good.
    Quote from ThisIsNotMyName
This is going to be my first EDH deck. I chose Azami because it closely resembles solidarity in legacy, a deck I have a lot of experience with.

I haven't seen any lists that actually run reality spasm plus echo mage / Sigil Tracer. It's an infinite mana combo that draws infinite cards with Azami out. Reality spasm is also just a nice card. Is there any reason I shouldn't run it?

    LOL!
Well, can't you proxy a miscalc? like just write that on a forest and throw it in.
Yeah miscalc in edric is absurd, loving me some edric mmhmm.
As for seat being popped by land-d, other lands get hit by that too.
We can get this back with ruins tho!
Plus in french artifact-d is scarcer, and it's actually beneficial to get set back by them popping seat - it means they don't have that spell to pop one of our numerous more valuable artifacts or enchantments.
I'd really recommend trying it again.
I mean, like I said, just being able to fetch your t4 land drop off of a t3 trinket mage is huge, if you get unlucky draws - if not its always just a normal blue land, exchanging a slight weakness to artifact destruction for being easily revivable and tutorable - IMO a fair trade.

EDIT: is rings of brighthearth banned and I missed it?
Seriously, its one of our ace cards.
    And basalt monolith.
    Second infinite FTW.
(of course we have less to do with infinite colorless now haha, but still. With power artifact, both monoliths, rings, and palinchron + high tide style stuff, it's easy to get there.)

Also, I'd recommend running BSZ and Stroke of Genius.
Check out the Grand arbiter list that won that french tourney a bit back, I mean we have better draw, but it's still better to have just a little bit more comboability IMO.
(he didn't use it to combo actually, just as extra eot draw...)
But yeah, BSZ at opponents eot is nice - I've been using both and loving the redundancy.

    Handsome, I like your list!
It looks almost exactly like my current list (after modifying for new french) Except I've got force and mana drain included lol.
    However:
I use beacon of tomorrows over time warp, on the off chance you scepter a mystical tutor, easy win.
No magus of the future, without sensei's combo, it's weak, I put archivist in instead.
Anyway, I think mox diamond is worth the land discard, turn 2 patron wizard is easy with it and pretty much means GG.
Likewise, I also run rings of brighthearth, it's randomly GG. (For example, I actually used it to dupe patron wizard's effect, my opponent had forgotten rings could do that!)
I also don't like shapesharer - IMO metamorph is enough.
Also, I've been liking glen elendra less and less lately - IMO voidmage husher is better at the 4cmc slot. That thing can also be super useful (countered wasteland, counter sisay activation for the turn, etc)

Final note, in french miscalculation and mana leak are surprisingly good.
    Early game, hard counters.
Late game miscalculation cycles and mana leak can still catch them off guard.
I'd take out negate for one of them, personally, negate sucks.

AS A NOTE: ALL OF YOU.
And I mean ALL OF YOU.
Should be running seat of the synod
    Why?
    Trinket mage.
    That's it.
If you already hit (or don't want to fetch) the moxen, expedition map, whatever 1cmc stuff you have, seat is there. It makes blue and is a land drop, which is nice.
True it gets blown by disk, but that doesn't matter so much.
Plus tez can search it for 0.

OMG! I called this card's effect EXACTLY. Only thing I got wrong was the cost (WG1) instead of wg2. Still pretty proud (it was obvious tho I guess...)
Still, awesome land, definitely a fun card, and one that makes prime time still a good card. (this + wolf run = oh dear god)

This land is amazing, its going to be a 2 of in cawblade,a second chance at a evasive creature besides invisi-man.
    Done deal.

    THIS.
IMO these are even better for the deck than invisiman, maybe even better than hawk.
It's what blade needed for new life.
Oh my god this land cycle may be the best utility land cycle ever.
So far we have Untamed might + trample on a land, fairly costed tokens on a land (I mean, wtf, a 1/1 flier costs 1, so it's only 1 extra + an exile, that's ridiculous on a card that makes mana! Vitu ghazi costed 4 mana and had no evasion!)
I can't wait for the rest. Theory: black blue land makes both players discard a card?
Oh, also preordering ghost quarters for 2 bucks may be a good idea, I'm thinking they'll be staples in every deck come rotation.

    TWO NEW WIZARDS! YEAH!
A 1U that's add 1 to mana pool, selfmill 1, and a 2U with if you would draw with no cards in library you win.
IDK about either tbh - the selfmill wincon guy seems fun - we have enough ways to self mill, after all (but we usually autowin if we do that... so yeah.
I'mma dig around and see if we can use either tho, I'll report back soon.

    Overall disappoint evening.
    OH GOD.
Just saw lab maniac! LOVE IT!

Has been said before probably, but hory sheet at this in edh.
Specifically, in mimeoplasm - this thing is a one turn win pretty much! Mill half + of your deck probably, get tons of tough stuff in the grave, dread return something big (narcomoeba in deck of course), then mimeoplasm for game (also want dat lightning greaves on the field of course).
Tasty. This thing is just ridiculous.
Also, I do agree that this is mythic, it feels justified completely.

    I LOVE ALCHEMIST!
So zombies are mill, eh? I'm fine with that.
I think curse is being underestimated a bit, I mean, it makes all your creatures get a +1 counter every time they hit your opponent, and since you plan on playing creatures, that makes your field get stronger every turn, which seems nice.

First - prime time is still relevant in standard, sweet!
Second - ghost quarter is super relevant in standard. Really sweet!
What a fun card this is, awesome mana sink to boot.

personally ruinator disgusts me, due to stitched drake.
Drake is the same card, except with 2 less power and toughness and 2 less creatures to exile - even moreso than ondu giant/prime time, showing the difference in power between mythics and other rarities.
That said, I still think it isn't power creep and won't be the best card for pod.
The 6/6 even less so. That thing isn't even constructed playable in the slightest bit.

    Ratchet bomb is worth noting.
If transform becomes at all viable it'll be a 3 of in every sideboard to shut that down.
I also grabbed Glissa, due to new landfixing her cost should be easier, and no bolt to kill her means a 3/3 first strike deathtouch, immune to doomblade, and who lets you recur artifacts when killing something is nice - really depends on the saccable artifacts we get in this set though.

Finally, masticores are a buck 25.

Very low risk, I mean, I can't see it going under 1 dollar, and huge reward due to mythic, if he somehow becomes good, he could shoot up to 9 bucks easily.
