I laughed when I read the title of this thread. This is an awesome, practical, casual deck. I might build something like this for my multiplayer group.
Banning Bitterblossom would also hurt Fey a lot - probably more than is needed - but at the cost of hurting MBC or Rock style archetypes which don't need a power adjustment.
Banning Mistbind Clique would be balancing without being destructive. Banning Bitterblossom would be more spiteful than reasoned.
I didn't really think about it that way. That makes a lot of sense. But I just can't see wizards deciding to ban the apparently weaker of the two, Mistbind Clique.
That said, I think that it makes us all stronger players to have such a broken deck in block constructed every now and then. If either card were banned I would miss it, even though I don't own a single copy of either.
For the overwhelming majority of human history, gold and silver have been valuable for one reason: they're shiny. If I invent a "valuometer" and point it at a bar of gold, the needle won't move any more than if I point it at Hamilton's handsome mug on the $10 bill.
No, you're missing the point. Gold is objectively valuable because it is scarce. That scarcity is exactly what makes it fantastic to make a currency system based on. Things that have really practical uses, or are more common are not quite as good, because their value will fluctuate more as more is produced.
Fiat currency is not worth anything at all, because it's paper that's hyped up to be worth something by a government. And it works as long as there is enough trust that that government is really backing it up with something, but, when it comes down to it and there's no more trust, the only thing keeping it afloat is pure force of arms wielded by really evil men who seek, at best, their own personal gain, at worst, to destroy morality by establishing a society of parasites.
Tying the money system to a scarce resource would be rather like tying a marathon runner to a greyhound: it works out okayish when they're both running at full steam, but once the dog wears out, it's all over.
If the amount of gold needed for currency exceeds the amount of gold available, the price of it goes up because it is a limited resource. I know it isn't perfect, but it isn't as bad as fiat currency.
What does matter is there isn't enough gold in the world for it to serve as the basis of a physical currency.
Good thing we have silver, palladium, copper, titanium, nickel, bismuth et cetera. The point is to have something that is actually valuable as the basis of, and direct incarnation of our money. It doesn't have to be gold.
There could still be paper money, but it would actually stand for something real.
But, we could change that, couldn't we? I know it seems to far gone to do anything about it, but there is still some hope left.
I don't think there is any monetary system more honest or fair than the gold standard, and I know a lot of people who agree. Maybe this could manifest into some kind of action.
Ravager Affinity comes to mind. Faeries doesn't come close in terms of brokenness.
Mistbind Clique definitely isn't powerful enough to be banned. Bitterblossom really doesn't deserve it either, but if anything absolutely had to be b& from Lorwyn block constructed, I would nominate bitterAWESOME.
Still, it's really not that bad. It kind of reminds me of standard when this site first started (Mirrodin block and Kamigawa block).
Did you/do you/will you go to a public university?
LOL no. Even if I did, what difference does it make? I have a bridge card though, and I'm never giving that money back in taxes, AND I'll still vote for Ron Paul. Why? Because I'll be richer from the kind of abundant freedom we would have if Ron Paul is elected than from a free $200 per month for food. I'm not even that poor by the way.
Why not abortion? I don't see why not. Enjoy your associated health problems.
But, at any rate, I don't really care about it's legality because I'm past the stage where it could kill me (and I'm a guy so I can't have one lol).
I still hope the fetuses unionize and arm themselves against pro-choicers. Serves you right for wanting to kill something that's alive, unique, and human just cause you'd rather not do whatever it takes to put it into, if not the best situation, at least a situation where it gets to be alive. But hey, I don't think it's my place to tell people what to do, except to enjoy their breast cancer, small random chance of death, hemmorage that leads to a hysterectomy, and/or the permanent inability to have children.

LOL, this is a great idea.

Welcome to tournament Magic.
Enjoy your non-top 8 finish.

P.S. It's horsecrap like redistribution of wealth that makes me plan on never paying income tax.

I'll have to remember to try that. One time I got a group of people together for a 6 person fallen empires draft with 6 packs each.
As far as drafting Eventide now, I think it's legit. Only reason it might not be is due to FNM rules, which idk about.

I'm telling you, abortions are bad karma.
