Transformers® and Nerf® give the impression that Unstable is focused on promoting other products. Dungeons and Dragons too, I guess, though that's less glaring.
These cards are being released at a Hasbro Con. The Transformer and Nerf cards will not be in Unstable.
Hah, I was wondering if they were going to include a nerf gun and a transformer toy with every booster box of Unstable...but there goes that theory I guess. I'd love to see the Nerf War card in action.
I think it's pretty cool, like you play it on turn 3, swing for 2 and sac the treasure for a 1 drop, that's a pretty decent tempo boost. Or, more often you'll probably attack for 2 and save the mana for the next turn/s while representing even more damage to a blocker. That rate makes it harder to quantify in comparison to other powerful 3-drops like Goblin Rabblemaster or Hanweir Garrison -- can the single mana per turn make up for the difference in attacker power? That's something worth testing in my opinion. The "any color" part is also an interesting feature, as some of the best cards in red decks are the ones you splash (Atarka's Command, Bloodbraid Elf, Boros Charm).
It's cool, it's flashy, it's powerful, and people still find a way to complain hahaha. I know they'll never please absolutely everyone when it comes to mythics, but come on -- this one is obvious!
Well, at least this does combo with Hive Mind. Not that it needed more enablers.
How does it combo with Hive Mind? If you play it, everyone gets a copy, true. But for you not to die, you need to Stifle or Disallow it...and everyone else will get a copy of that too, so nothing will happen.
Edit: it does work. Your opponent's copy resolves first so he/she dies.
Not only will the opponent's copy resolve first, it will remove your copy, so even if they dealt with their game loss trigger, you wouldn't have to deal with yours.
Can't attack or block unless you control at least three other creatures.
3W: Creature a 1/1 White warrior creature token with Vigilance.
3/6
Pretty overcosted, 6 power for 4 mana doesn't really cut it these days, maybe the indestructible keeps it relevant but I doubt it. Kefnet and Hazoret are much more playable in constructed.
It's a Standard staple. Blue needed exactly this, something concrete for the early game as well as staying relevant later. Not to mention the cycling synergies...I think U/W/x is shaping up to be a contender. This thing with Drake Haven...gravy.
I like that the floor is an efficient aggressive beater, and the ceiling is actually dealing with things like Tarmogoyf, as big ol Goyf gives burn decks nightmares.
I don't get it. Were there really that many competitive players that didn't understand the interaction? Because I doubt the less competitive players would care about such a change anyways
