You just destroyed my game. LOL I had no idea of that site haha.
Yeah, but that's no fun. I'm sure we can make some sort of gentleman's (and lady's) agreement to just stick to stuff like imdb. That way we can still enjoy the spirit of the game and maybe even learn something in the process.
If anyone is interested, I'd like to challenge you to get from Zac Efron to Mary Steenburgen.
I'd like to add Hard To Say I'm Sorry by Chicago to this list, though the Boyz II Men version is not bad either.
Also, the version of Rihanna's Take A Bow from Glee is another one...Lea Michele's vocals give the song a sense of helplessness that the original doesn't have.
Edit: Apparently, Boyz II Men didn't do a remake of Sorry...don't know why I thought they did.
Maybe there was Kanye backlash at work with the Grammys, but even more insidiously, maybe the Grammy people are too conservatively minded to "get it".
But hasn't this always been true? Even look at last year (the 2009 Grammys). Robert Plant and Alison Krauss? How many people even knew that they released an album in 2008? Especially compared to some of the other nominees, which were some of the more popular albums of the year (Viva La Vida in particular).
I am somewhat more satisfied with how this year went, as Fearless was at least known to be this out-of-nowhere smash hit for Taylor Swift, who was mostly confined to country radio until songs like Love Story and You Belong With Me broke her out into mainstream success.
That said though, looking at the 2009 year end Billboard Hot 100 chart, IIRC the top four slots were occupied by two songs each from The E.N.D. and The Fame while I Am...Sasha Fierce put up a total of 5 songs. However, I at least find Fearless to have been somewhat defendable choice with respect to mainstream success, as opposed to certain past decisions.
I really like Christmas Wrapping (The Waitresses version, though most of the covers are at least decent as well). I think it's a cute song and fun to listen to. Fairytale of New York is also pretty good.
I've heard good things about these bands before. Could any fans tell me more about them? (what kind of music do they make, what makes them special to you, etc.)
For example, if f(x) = 2x, then f^{-1}(4) = 2, since f(2) = 4.
edit: Got another!
edit: omg I just got another (first two cryptic clues I've gotten ever!)

As you can see, I really enjoy pop/country music, but I am not opposed to exposing myself to other genres as well, which leads me to the question...
